Suzanne Barnett

June 9, 1954 - February 20, 2018

Suzanne, “Momma Sue,” Barnett of Beaumont, Texas, passed away with family at her side on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.  She was born in Beaumont, Texas, to Edwin and Ella Bearb, and was preceded in death by her Mother, Ella.

Suzanne was a graduate of South Park High School (Greenie Pride Never Dies!) and worked as a Bookkeeper at Motion Industries for 23 years.  But, her most important job in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.  Suzanne’s children and grandchildren were her life, and they all loved and cherished her immensely.

Suzanne is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Billy Wayne Barnett; father, Edwin Bearb and his wife, Sandy; and brother, Michael Bearb. She was a loving mother to four children and two step-children, Robert Rayburn; Stacy Smith and her husband, Jason; Kim Smith and her husband, Mike; Katie Barnett; Marcy Lindequist; and Fritzie Vennebush and her husband, David.

Suzanne was blessed with 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and her littlest loves include:  Kayla, Kristen, Serena, Julia, Isabel, Karson, Sylas, Urijah, Trevor, Kimberly, Kayla, Colt, Brantley, Charley, Weston, Cayson, Braelyn, Brooks, and Branson.

A gathering of Mrs. Barnett’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private family graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

Suzanne’s family would like to express their countless thanks to the tireless effort of all her doctors, nurses, caregivers, and aides that contributed in her fight against cancer.

She was passionate about St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105, so donations would be greatly appreciated in her honor.

I had the privilege of knowing Suzanne from SPHS and also was a part of her nursing care during this time. She was a blessing to take care of, as well as her family. She fought very hard and tried to always have a smile on her face. May God comfort you all !

My condolences to the Bearbs and Barnetts. I have not seen Suzanne in many years, but I remember her as a very sweet friend at Fehl Elementary and Robbins-Memorial Presbyterian Church.
