My mother informed me of Bill’s passing when I was home for her 86th birthday last weekend. I join in mourning with his family and friends, one of many lives that he touched. Bill was my baseball coach in my Little League and Babe Ruth League days back in the 1970’s. He cared for his players and taught us not only how to play the game but what sportsmanship is all about. He led by enthusiastic example, and I have many fond memories of having played for him. He was even brave enough to take a bunch of 11 year olds to the Astrodome for an Astros game!! I truly regret not keeping in touch with Bill over the some 40 years since. He was a kind, caring, wonderful man.

His daughter Cheryl and husband Ray are my neighbors. I think I only met him once...but that was enough for me to know he loved his grandchildren.
    Fine man.

Sincere condolences in the loss of your sweet husband, father and grandpa. I was fortunate to spend time with Bill and Brenda during several chemo sessions in Lufkin while with a friend. They were precious neighbors here in Westwood. God's peace to all who mourn.
