Alan Carpenter
Alan Ross Carpenter, 67, of Silsbee, died Thursday, September 6, 2018. He was born on August 7, 1951, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Phyllis Allen Carpenter and James Carpenter, Sr.
Survivors include his siblings, Sharon Kozlowski and her husband, Don, of Beaumont; James Carpenter, Jr. and his wife, Letha, of Silsbee; Gregory Carpenter of Beaumont; Charlotte Stephens and her husband, Michael, of Silsbee; Brian Carpenter and his wife, Gina, of Warren; and Pamela Carpenter of Jasper; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of Alan’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with his memorial service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

My condolences and heart felt symphathy to the family and friends of Alan Carpenter. He was a devoted teacher/facilator to his student at Rosemont Schools (Dallas) and many others. I had a passion for music and wanted everyone to appreciate it as much as he did. His thirst for life was relentless. I shall truly miss my confidante, encourager and friend.

Alan was my childhood neighbor and companion. We both had a passion for music and a disdain for math. My mother tutored us both. Alan recently told me that he would never forget how she chewed gum as she tried to teach us the importance of angles and theorums. We played piano duets together and we played in quartets at piano recitals. His musicality was exceptional, his friendship even more so. I loved him like a brother.

Alan was my good friend and also my family for many years in Dallas. He was an amazing musical talent with piano, organ, violin, and viola. An excellent teacher, he was proudest of his last strings class at Rosemont that achieved highest ratings in U.I.L. We were there for each other over the years. He was loved by all and never lost his Christian faith. I will miss him very much and am very very sad. My sincere condolences to all the family that he loved so much. God Bless and keep all of you.

My prayers and condolences for the family and friends of Alan. I knew him in high school and always amired him for his talent. I remember that smile always across his face. It was nice to see it once again in the video, beautifully done. I wish I had stayed in touch over the years but never saw him after high school. But I have fond and fun memories of him from those days. He was a wonderful person. Rest in the arms of our Lord & Saviour. May the Holy Spirit comfort his family.

Alan was the accompanist for my advanced ballet class at Lamar U. in the early 1970s. His music always inspired the dancers --and he always played exactly what was best for any exercise or combination. We were all very grateful to him and for his abundant talent.

Alan and I shared a very special and unique relationship. We met at a christian conference in the early 90's in Ft. Worth. We just happened to be sitting next to each other., 2 strangers, who loved our Lord and Savior and became good friends because of our relationship with the Lord, I did not see much of Alan because of distance but we visited on the phone many, many times, sharing concerns and praying and also sharing scripture and what the Lord was doing in our lives. I love Alan as a brother and he loved me in return as his sister As I said we had a unique relationship with the Lord Jesus in the center. The last time Alan and I visited each other was about 2 months before his death. He was in the hospital in Houston because of neck surgery. We spend 3 or 4 hrs. together and as always our conversation was centered on the Lord and His goodness. Even thru his illness, He never spoke ill of the Lord or asked the question so many Christians ask, why me Lord. l will miss my friend but I can say with all sincerity that I am so very happy for Alan because he is in Glory with His Lord whom he loved with all of his heart, I will join you one day dear brother.
Mr. Carpenter was my music teacher at Albert Sidney Johnston in Dallas, Tx. He was a ray of sunshine! I’m 35 now but I’ll never forget the smiles he put on my face 25 years ago! I’m sad to see you’re no longer with us. Rest in perfect peace. 🩷
I am truly saddened about the loss of Mr. Carpenter, he was truly a music inspiration. Thanks for teaching me how to be geat with my violin. Best memory was going to the capital and playing for the congress members was truly amazing.
