Anita Louise LaCour Smith

October 25, 1938 - June 8, 2023

Anita Louise LaCour Smith, 84, of Beaumont, died Thursday, June 8, 2023. She was born on October 25, 1938, in Beaumont, to Nettie Marguerite Goode and Walton Sinclair LaCour.

Anita loved God, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a French High Buffalo Class of 1957. Anita worked for Gulf States, then worked in banking for First City Bank. She retired from Gulfco Forge Company. Anita enjoyed gardening, music, traveling, and loved life.

Survivors include her sons, Michael Smith and his wife, Dovie, of Beaumont; Frank Smith and his wife, Melinda, of Lufkin; Kevin Smith and his wife, Rachel, of Houston; and Cary Smith and his wife, Michelle, of Colorado; grandchildren, Crystal Coleman and her husband, Scotty; Michelle Keating and her husband, Joseph; Jacob Smith; Kip Smith and his wife, Bree; Kaci Ruiz and her husband, David; Marsha Placette and her husband, Sam; Robert Smith; Zachary Pierce; Jacob Pierce; Dylan Smith; Amanda Guillory; Patricia Green; Matthew Cormier; Steven Guillory; Luke Smith; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin Smith; and son, Mark Smith.

A gathering of Mrs. Smith’s family and friends will begin at 12:30 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2023, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

    Anita’s was always such a nice lady and she was a good friend to my Mom, JoAnn Jones, before my Mom passed away. I’ll bet they are up there now planning a Cochon de Lait together. Have fun ladies!
