Ann Jacob Meitzen

R.G. Ann Jacob Meitzen, 87, formerly of Beaumont, passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Parsons House in Cypress, Texas. She was born on December 2, 1929, in Alta Loma, Texas, to Ruth Gernand and George Walter Jacob.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Karen Early and her husband, Ted, of San Antonio, and Lisa Miller and her husband, Paul, of Cypress, and son Jimmie Meitzen, Jr. and his wife, Becky, of Longview. She had twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, James Allen Meitzen, Sr.

Ann enjoyed her family and church. She played most any game involving a ball, especially tennis. Ann was an avid bridge player, played the piano beautifully, and loved watching sports and game shows on TV. She had watched the Astros win the night before her passing, which contributed to her peace.

A Rosary for Mrs. Meitzen will be recited at 5:00 p.m., with her gathering to follow until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2017, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, with her entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
