Billy Bob Carroll

Billy Bob Carroll, 86, formerly of Nederland, died Saturday, May 27, 2017. He was born on August 25, 1930, in Campti, Louisiana, to Ethel Inez and Willie Lee Carroll.

Billy served in the Air Transport Squadron One of the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on September 22, 1952. He worked as an operator for Pure Oil Refinery later known as Union 76 most of his career and retired in June 1988.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Nancy DeBarge Carroll of McKinney, TX; children, Pam Carroll Knapp and her husband, Gary, of McKinney, TX and Rhonda Carroll of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Billy Bruce Carroll, Jr. of Port Neches, TX; Angela Nichole Orta, Lance Joseph Orta, and Brianna Renee Orta, all of Groves, TX; McKenzie Caryl Knapp and Caleb Zachary Knapp, both of McKinney, TX; sister, Shirley Vercher and her husband, Ben David, of Spring Hill, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Billy Bruce Carroll; and his brother, Jerry Lee Carroll.

A gathering of Mr. Carroll’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by his funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
