Brenda Gail Smith

Brenda Gail Smith, 77, of Lumberton, Texas, died Monday, August 22, 2022.  She was born on November 25, 1944, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Marie Dyer Tucker and Cecil Tucker.

Survivors include her husband, Willis “Roy” Smith; children, Greg Smith and his wife, Josie; Roger Smith and his wife, Shelia; and Steve Smith and his wife, April, all of Lumberton, Texas; and Susan Knight and her husband, Ryan,  of Charleston, South Carolina; grandchildren, Sarah Almand of Corona de Tucson, Arizona; Austin Smith of Austin, Texas; Andrew Smith and his wife, Leslie; Emily Smith; Connor Smith; and Claire Smith, all of Lumberton, Texas; and Riley Knight; Kaden Knight; and Avery Knight, all of Charleston, South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Katherine Smith, Grace Smith, Beckham Smith, Jackson Smith, Micah Smith, Payton Almand, and Cameron Almand; and sister, Barbara Andrews of Lumberton, Texas.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Marie; stepfather, M.L. “Buck” Rogers, Sr.; and brother, M.L. “Buck” Rogers, Jr.

A gathering of Mrs. Smith’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Woodcrest United Methodist Church, 1684 Highway 96, Lumberton, Texas, under the direction of Broussard’s, Silsbee, Texas.  Her interment will follow at Hardin Memorial Park, Silsbee, Texas.

    It was such a adventure to get to work with Gail at Woodcrest UMC . I didn’t get to know her but a few years , but her attention to detail was exceptional! She will be missed and has been missed during her illness. I know she is celebrating with Jesus now and has been completely healed.
