Charlotte Ann Monroe

December 18, 1943 - September 5, 2023

Charlotte Ann Monroe, 79, of Port Neches, died Tuesday, September 5, 2023. She was born December 18, 1943, in Beaumont, to Ruby People Bean and Michael Bean.

Charlotte was a beacon of light in our lives. Her radiant smile and caring demeanor could brighten even the darkest of days. She had an incredible gift for making everyone feel special, and she had a unique ability to bring people together. Charlotte’s presence was like a warm embrace, and she had an uncanny knack for lifting the spirits of those she encountered.

A dedicated mother, Charlotte poured her heart and soul into raising her children, Brent and Dina. She instilled in them the same values of kindness, compassion, and love that she embodied every day. Her home was a place of comfort and love, where friends and family always felt welcomed.

As time went on, she began a new phase of her life as a grandmother to Callie, Gabriel, and Jacob, while also being an honorary grandmother to Tyler Domingue. Being a grandmother gave her life a new, deeper meaning, and she succeeded in being the best “granny.” She enjoyed activities such as picnics in Doornbos Park, cooking for her grandkids, and watching them participate in sports. She attended every practice and game that Gabriel and Jacob had for soccer, basketball, and football. She was their loudest and proudest supporter. Her unconditional love and support was felt every day by her grandkids.

Charlotte Monroe will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her, but her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched. Her memory will forever be a source of inspiration, reminding us to be kind, loving, and compassionate in all that we do. Until we see you again, we love you forever.

Survivors include her husband, John “Butch” Monroe; daughter, Dina Hernandez; son, Brent Sattler and wife, Stacy; and grandchildren, Gabriel Hernandez, Jacob Hernandez, and Callie Sattler.

She is preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Michael Bean, Donna Harvill, and Dwain Bean.

A gathering of Mrs. Monroe’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a Rosary recited at 11:00 a.m., and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2006 Nall Street, Port Neches. Her interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
