Daniel Joseph Ayres

November 10, 2000 - September 18, 2022

Daniel Joseph Ayres, 21, of Beaumont, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022. He was born November 10, 2000, in Beaumont, to Allison Moreau Ayres and Scott Jason Ayres.

Daniel was an Eagle Scout in his fourth year studying Mechanical Engineering at Lamar University.  He was most passionate about God, hunting, his country, and having fun with his friends. He knew how to live life to its fullest and extracted every ounce of fun out of a moment. When he smiled, which was often, the joy he carried inside was evident.

His teenage years were filled with experiencing the outdoors, from catching perch out of a drainage ditch with friends to deer hunting with his grandfather to duck hunting with his best friend and his dad.  His scouting journey included experiences of sailing the Florida Keys, backpacking the mountains of northern New Mexico, and canoeing the rivers and lakes of southern Canada.

Daniel was serious about work.  He started mowing yards at an early age, added odd jobs here and there, and even tried his hand at building and maintaining a website he hoped would be profitable.  He had an admirable work ethic, and he would drop everything to help someone. From cleaning out houses after Hurricane Harvey to cutting bushes down for the neighbors to helping free a friend’s stuck vehicle from the mud, he would assist however he could.

Daniel loved music.  His playlists were heavily influenced by country music and Christian worship artists, but he recently “discovered” Elvis.  He began studying piano at an early age and later became proficient with the guitar.

Daniel accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord at an early age.  He was part of Cathedral, now One City Church, for most of his life.  As he grew there, he was part of the youth worship team, the production team, and the building maintenance department.  In addition to the Bible, Daniel’s reading list included works by C.S. Lewis, Joyce Meyer, David Barton, and Phil Robertson, to name a few. He was never afraid to share his deep faith. His impact will be felt for years and he will be terribly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his parents, Scott and Allison Ayres, of Beaumont; sister, Lauren Bergeron and her husband, Jeremiah, of Beaumont; grandparents, Marvin and Marilyn Ayres of Beaumont; K.P. and JoAnna Moreau of Lumberton; a host of other relatives, and friends without number.

A gathering of Daniel’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, at One City Church, 2350 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont, Texas 77703. His interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to One City Church, 2350 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont, Texas 77703 or Legacy Christian Academy, 8200 Hwy 105, Beaumont, Texas 77713.

    Deborah says:

In honor of Daniel: “And I John saw the holy city new Jerusalem come down form God out of heaven, prepared as a bride trimmed for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, Behold, the Tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them: and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be their God with them. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, neither crying, neither shall there be anymore pain: for the first things are passed.” Rev 21:2-4 Geneva 1599 To the lovely family: May His grace be sufficient as He guides you through this. With a broken heart for yours, love and prayers.

    Scott, Allison, and Lauren,
My deepest condolences are with your family; and my prayers will not cease for you in the coming days. Although I have not seen Daniel since he was a little boy, I know he was a special young man. He sounds somewhat similar to our Caleb. After reading his obituary & what others have to say about Daniel, it’s proof he lived a life pleasing to the Lord & was an example to others in his short life. I know he will be missed beyond belief until you see him again one day.
    Love & prayers,
    Melanie
