Dylan Matthew Kelley

May 27, 1998 - August 27, 2017

Dylan Matthew Kelley, 19, of Beaumont, died Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of the area, he was born on May 27, 1998, to Rhonda Smith Kelley and Kelly Kelley.

Dylan attended All Saints Episcopal, graduated from Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School, and was currently a student at Lamar University. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and alumni and counselor at Camp Longhorn in Burnet. Dylan was an avid watch collector and loved cars and soccer. He had a strong compassion for people, and was kindhearted towards everyone he met especially his younger brothers. Dylan had such an enthusiasm for life and always loved a good time. His contagious smile was impossible not to notice. Dylan’s friendly personality touched so many people, and he never met a stranger.

Survivors include his parents; Rhonda and Kelly Kelley of Beaumont; brothers, Kristopher Kelley, Sean Kelley, and Brett Kelley; maternal grandparents, Lois and Jerry Smith of Nederland; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Mark Domingue of Austin; great-grandfather, Felix Webber of Beaumont; uncles, Kevin Smith and his wife, Deborah, of Nederland and Joe Kelley and his wife, Melody, of Beaumont; cousins, Heather Neely and her husband, Rick, of Fannett; Amanda Smith; Kayla Smith; and Hannah Smith, all of Nederland; and Kendra and Adam Kelley; and special friend, Katelynn Jade Huckabay.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Hugh Clifton Kelley.

A gathering of Dylan’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Christian Vigil at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2017, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

I am Katelynn Jade's grandmother. Dylan had been to my home several times , he was an amazing, sweet young man.. He made my granddaughter very happy! I am so sorry not only for the Kelly family but for what the world will miss out on by Dylan not being here.
