E-Lane Langston

December 8, 1931 - January 28, 2023

E-Lane Langston, 91, of Beaumont, died Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.  E-Lane Fisher Langston was born in Beaumont, Texas, on December 8, 1931, to Howell Rayburn Fisher, Sr. and Maggie Estelle Bamburg Fisher.

The youngest of four children, E-Lane graduated from South Park High School in 1949 and then attended Lamar State College and nursing school at Hotel Dieu Hospital. E-Lane met Lee Bridges Langston on a blind date in 1949. It was a good date and the beginning of a lifetime of love as they were married two years later on February 9, 1951. Their 72-year marriage was blessed with three children, Jennifer, Sandra, and Stanley.

E-Lane and Lee lived in and enjoyed the South Park area of Beaumont until 1994, when they moved to Bevil Oaks. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother and a committed Christian. E-Lane and Lee raised their family in Highland Avenue Baptist Church and were later members of South Park Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Bevil Oaks. As a result of the destruction of their Bevil Oaks home by Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and health issues suffered by E-Lane in 2018, she and Lee resided in Buckner Calder Woods at the time she went home to be with the Lord.

E-Lane was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, H.R. (Junior) Fisher, Jr., Chester Fisher, and Mary Frances Monroe.

She is survived by those she loved and that loved her so dearly, her husband, Lee; sister-in-law,  Shirley Joyce; children, Jennifer Martin (Bobby) of Plano, Sandra Talbot (Gary) of Orangefield, and Stanley Langston (Lisa) of Friendswood as well as by her 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, Brandon Martin (Casey) and Kate and Caleb Martin of Dallas; Todd Martin (Caroline) and Luke and Molly Martin of Dallas; Paul Talbot (Jeannie) and Cameron Underwood, Norah June, and Teddy Talbot of Spring; Katy Murray (Stephen) and Benjamin and Maren Murray of Dallas; Matthew Talbot of Orange; and Zachary Hardy (Bryn) of Cameron. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Prayers for Lee, family, and all who knew and loved E-Lane. We have been blessed with Lee and E-Lane’s granddaughter Katy as she became a member of our family in June of 2011. We have fond memories of E-Lane through our time helping her and Lee clean out their home after the flood. Great people!!!

Lee, Jennifer, Sandy, and Stan, we are praying for y’all during this time and are sorry for your loss. Your Mom was such a sweet loving Lady and I can still see that smile she had when we would see her and Lee at Fudrucker’s. And we still remember the years at Highland with y’all. God has welcomed a “Very Special Lady “Home. Praying for you.

The Langston’s have been a part of my life since I was born. From living on Wyatt St, to going to Highland Ave, and then South Park. I also grew up in school and church being called Jennifer Langston because of my red hair. This wonderful lady was the example of Christ-like love and dedication to Him. She was such an influence in my life and will be missed by many. Just know she made an impression in my life and I can’t wait to see her in Heaven one day.

I will always remember E-Lane as such a gentle, kind woman. I was fortunate to grow up with her kids as well as many other kids on Wyatt St in South Park. We were the Wyatt St. Gang back when a “gang” was more like the Little Rascals. E-Lane was a great Christian lady and a person I always respected.
