I remember Mr. Martin as a very hard working man that loved his family dearly. His two daughters and 2 sons watched him toll and lead by example. He taught them how to garden and work with their hands. Most important how to live independent and free. I watched all 4 children grow up self-confident, resilient and driven. I believe hard work extends deep into our character and that Mr. Martin was a walking example throughout his life. Your children were proud to call you Daddy! Can’t wait to see you dancing on the streets of gold!

    MARY LURLENE DUBOSE says:

Just thinking back. …makes me miss home. …makes me miss the people I grew up close to. I knew your dad and all his brothers my entire life! The Martin Family…our neighbors. close friends…attended church with them. …rode the school bus with them. …went swimming with them in the rice canal. …sang with your momma. …then had you guys in children’s choir. …miss y’all. …love y’all. …praying for y’all. God’s blessings on y’all. See ya later, Eugene. 💔🙏❤️

“Uncle” Eugene and “Aunt” Prissy were always kind to me and my siblings Giselle Meguess Ates and Carlton Eugene Meguess. We were frequently at their home in Fannett. I will continue to fondly remember his help during my childhood. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
