George Fecowycz, Jr.

December 3, 1966 - November 10, 2023

George Fecowycz, Jr., 56, of Port Neches, died Friday, November 10, 2023. He was born December 3, 1966, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, to Peggy Childers Fecowycz and George Fecowycz, Sr.

George grew up in Nederland and graduated from Nederland High School in 1984. He met his future wife, Jennifer, at Lamar University, and they moved to Port Neches after marriage. George was a devoted dad to his three children and Poppa G to his granddaughter.

George loved spending time with family and friends, and he enjoyed hosting get-togethers at home on the porch. Much like his father, he was known by loved ones, customers, and co-workers for his sense of humor and sarcastic wit. George spent his free time working on projects with his neighbor, watching sports and sharing drinks with friends, and going to concerts or listening to music at home. George also enjoyed traveling, and he would often plan group trips to include family and friends in the fun. Most recently, George has enjoyed spending his time on the water, on the porch swing or with his granddaughter.

George is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Jennifer Rhone Fecowycz; son, Will and his wife, Hailey Fecowycz; daughters, Segal Fecowycz and Amy K. Fecowycz; granddaughter, Ivy Fecowycz; sister, Michelle Fecowycz Meers and her husband, Kyle Meers; niece, Hannah Meers; and numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of Mr. Fecowycz’s family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with his memorial service at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His committal will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Jennifer, kids, and Michelle and her family:

George and I met in Mrs. Billie Rose Klein’s 1st grade class in 1972 at Sycamore Private School in Nederland. We went into a Cub Scout Pack and Den together in 1973 and spent several years on all sorts of adventures.

May all of you have “the peace that passes understanding”. I also pray you have faith, hope, and love.
