Gerry Wayne Prevost

February 14, 1950 - February 13, 2024

Gerry Wayne Prevost, aged 73, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on February 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 14, 1950, in Eunice, Louisiana, to Charles and Verna Manuel Prevost.

Gerry was a dedicated lifelong resident of Beaumont and Bevil Oaks, Texas. He attended South Park High School and proudly served as a member of the Air National Guard. As an employee of Southwestern Bell, he skillfully served as a Cable Splicer for many years.

In 1971, Gerry married the love of his life, Mary Kay Markby Prevost, with whom he shared over five decades of cherished memories. Together, they raised two children, Charles Emmett and Alisha Kay, and welcomed three grandchildren, Ani Rose Prevost, Conrad Ray Adix, and Kyler Kirkland, into their lives.

A devout Roman Catholic since childhood, Gerry found solace and strength in his faith. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who found joy in spending time with his family and beloved grandchildren. Gerry enjoyed his time at home, working out in his home gym, taking leisurely walks, and cheering for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Gerry was preceded in death by his son, Charles, as well as his parents, Charles and Verna. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Kay; his brother, Dale Charles Prevost; his other brother, Gregory Keith Prevost, and daughter-in-law, Tina Brown Prevost; brother-in-law, John Markby, and sister-in-law, Kristen Markby; his grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Gerry will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and his two faithful canine companions, Dory and Maddie. His warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.

A Funeral Mass for Mr. Prevost will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2024, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont.
