Gertrude Elaine Pierce
Gertrude Elaine Pierce, 91, of Groves, died Friday, May 3, 2024. She was born May 31, 1932, in Hamburg, Iowa, to Grace Pauline Howard and Lee Jones.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Sjulin and husband, Bill, of Ames, Iowa; son, Robert Pierce, of Oak Barow, North Carolina; granddaughters, Kelly Lavallee, of Port Neches; Faith Anne Melaughlin, of Denver, Colorado; Kara Lavallee, of Groves; and Kim Lavallee, of Ankeny, Iowa; grandsons, Dalton Pierce, of York, South Carolina and Colton Pierce, of Troutman, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Lexi, Dominick, Alexis, James, Adelyn, and Taylor; great-great grandchildren, Royal and Kingston; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Pierce; parents; and grandson, Shawn Lavallee.
Mrs. Pierce’s cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.

I am the niece of Wallace Jones, who is 95 years old and lives in Red Oak, Iowa. He is the brother of Orio Lee Jones, the father of Gertrude Jones Lewis. Uncle Wally often asked me about Gertrude. He thought very fondly of her. He mother Grace lived in the same town as I do, Emerson, Iowa. She was a very nice aunt. Uncle Wally thought vey kind thoughts of her, as did I. I am so sorry for your loss. I have told Uncle Wally about her death also. We send our sympathies to you all. Love Marlene Skalberg
