Gloria Garcia

Gloria Garcia, 87, of Nederland, died Friday, June 7, 2024. She was born on June 21, 1936, in San Antonio, to Elodia and Julio Orozco.

Gloria was a great homemaker and a great cook. She was a very good Christian. She often visited nursing homes so she could pray with and for others. She enjoyed her plants and stayed fit by walking whenever she was able. Most of all she loved her family.

Survivors include her loving husband, Phillip Garcia, of Nederland; sons, Phillip Garcia, Jr. and his wife, Thelma, of Austin, Glenn Orlando Garcia, and his wife, Jackie, of Montgomery, Albert Garcia, and his wife Jana, of Nederland, Steve Garcia of Spring; grandchildren, Jacey Garcia, Ashley Garcia Sobrero, Adam Garcia, Jordan Garcia, Nina Garcia Leonard, Garret, Rachel, Joshua Garcia; great-grandchildren, Grayson and Jackson Bannister, Olivia and Julian Sobrero, Samuel Franklin Sobrero, and Mason Leonard.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Aaron Garcia; great-grandchild, Samuel Franklin Sobrero; brother, Ralph Orozco; sister, El Vera Ramirez and Ophelia Orozco.

A gathering of Mrs. Garcia’s family and friends will begin at 8:00 a.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 9:15 a.m., at Broussard’s, 505 North 12^th Street, Nederland, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2024, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
