Glynn “Smiley” Bauman

February 5, 1956 - June 17, 2024

Glynn “Smiley” Bauman, 68, Lumberton, died Monday June 17, 2024. He was born on February 5, 1956, in Pasadena, Texas, to Reverend Jim Bauman and Minnie Pearl Bauman.

Survivors include his wife, Irene C. Bauman, children: Mistey Reeves and husband Lester, and children Alyssa and Jeffrey of Lumberton; Shannon Gilmore and husband Kevin, and children Zachary and Nicholas, of Beaumont; John Courts and his wife, Alisa and children Ethan and Paisley, of Beaumont; Erin McBee and husband Randy, and child Faithlyn of Village Mills; April Bauman and children Zoey, Lillian, and Cotes of Groves; and Jeremy Bauman of Baytown; father, Reverend Jim “Honey” Bauman; siblings, James Bauman and wife Missy; and Lynn Bauman and husband, Hector Canseco.

Smiley is preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Pearl Bauman.

Smiley was a much-loved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend including a stand in paternal figure to many. Even though his physical strength was weakened by his health, he remained faithful in his Christian walk. He was a rock to his countless friends and family. No matter what happened between you in your lives, once you were marked dear to him, he’d be by your side when you needed him.

During his downtime he was always up for a good gathering of family and friends at the lake and “da” Camphouse. He loved spending time with his grandkids & hosting an “entertaining” fireworks show.

When not spending time with his family, he enjoyed giving back to the community being an avid Elk’s & YMBL member. He was always available to lend a helping hand to friends, charity and benefit events. He was dependable and faithful, willing to help out in anyway he could, as member of the Cowboy Church on the Rock.

After a long hard fought journey, Smiley passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his wife and children.

We invite you all to share pictures and memories. It was his wish that we laugh, reminisce and smile together during this time.
