James “Jamie” Norwood

April 17, 1964 - December 1, 2022

James “Jamie” Norwood, 58, of Beaumont, died Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on April 17, 1964, to Patricia Ann Turner Norwood and Sherrell Ray Norwood, in San Antonio.

He was a forty-year resident of Goliad House, later St. Giles, where he made many friends. Jamie enjoyed playing guitar, doing crossword puzzles, and listening to country music.

Survivors include his mother, Patsy Ann Norwood of Beaumont; sister, Audrey Pope of Huntington; brothers, Lloyd Norwood and his wife, Donna, of Smithville, Missouri; Brian Norwood and his wife, Lisa, of Beaumont; and Russell Norwood of Tomball; ten nieces and nephews; and one great-niece.

He is preceded in death by his father, Sherrell Norwood and sister, Shelley Norwood.

A gathering of Mr. Norwood’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.

    Jamie was such a blessing to all of us here at St Giles ( Caregiver Inc.) We loved him so much.
    I’ve personally known him just 1 year but the year has been blessed with his presence…. Everyone here/ roommates/ housemates and staff loved him deeply.
    He’s heavenly resting in Peace
    May the Good Lord bless all of his family at this time…

    I have enjoyed working Jay as I always called him,he will always be dear to my heart,he had his good days and bad,for 12 years even when I worked at other houses he would fine me to tell me bout Bob,they were characters(arguing brothers)We love him always
