    Lawrence Gordey says:

Joe Lynn looking back you where the biggest part of my world, as a high school teen, I looked up to and wanted to be like you! When our worlds collided it had a very different twist, I saw you as a person who sought after the heart of God! I didn’t understand your tears, but I followed you to an Alter, who you followed, Betty Jean, which you shared with me as a mother, Walter Ray, which you shared with me as a father, my life was forever changed, no matter the success no matter the struggle Joe Lynn Overstreet you made me your brother my world at the moment is shattered because you left us in it, I’m not short for the experiences we shared Joe Lynn, your hunger that I saw you have for God made me to know you are and was a man after God’s own heart, in all of life’s twist and turns in our most vulnerable moments I admired the fact that you never let the power of our God leave your thoughts or your heart, you sought after God through out your life and I must I don’t know how to except the fact he has sought after you now, my world is shattered with mourning and greif even now with tears running from heart that is broken! Grief, hurt, mourning, is the price we pay for love, I love you and I am forever impacted and will never forget who you ready where! I don’t know how to say goodbye cause it’s hard to let go, just know he said I go to prepare a place for you that where I am there ye may be also! Walter Ray, Betty Jean, Shelia, and Now Joe Lynn you where family that God Gave me
