F. Kenneth Stevens, Jr.

January 27, 1946 - May 29, 2024

F. Kenneth Stevens, Jr. died May 29, 2024, age 78, in Beaumont, Texas. He attended Beaumont schools and after high school joined the United States Navy serving as a medical corpsman in the Pacific Fleet. After separating from the Navy, he returned to East Texas, graduated Mortuary Science School, and became a Funeral Director in multiple East Texas towns. Among those being Conroe and Buffalo, where he was elected Mayor. He returned to Beaumont in 2009 (serving as Director at Forest Lawn Funeral Home).

He enjoyed touring with his beloved Harley motorcycle. As a talented cook, he liked nothing better than organizing crawfish boils, raising funds for scholarships and planning other special events for the service organizations in which he actively participated. These included Masons, Shriners, Order of the Eastern Stars, and Rotary Club. A skilled gardener, Ken could grow anything. He enjoyed planting a garden and sharing produce and flowers wherever he lived.

Survivors include his fiancée, Charisse Miller; daughters, Pamela and Ashley; sister, Carol Keller; brother-in-law, Bob Shipman; as well as multiple grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and their spouses and their children.

He is preceded in death by his parents, F. Kenneth Stevens (1959) and Dorothy Bodin Stevens (2009) and sister, Sally Stevens Shipman (2007).

Ken was interred at Houston National Cemetery on June 6, 2024, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
