Keno Rives

February 29, 1944 - August 9, 2023

Keno Rives, 79, of Jasper, died Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on February 29, 1944, (Leap Year) to Sally Porter Rives and John Rives, in Port Arthur, and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Keno had a love for his chickens, fishing, anything outdoors, piddling in his man cave, gambling, cards (especially Phase 10), and dominos.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Belinda Rives; children, Autumn Brown and Heather McAdams; grandchildren, Kayla Dunham and her fiancé, Dalton Midkiff, Alexis Wilson and her husband, Josh; and Shawn “The Bubba” Messina, Jr.; siblings, Grace Landers, James Rives, and Judy Terricina; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sally Ann Williams and Marion Bradbury; brother, John Rives; son-in-law, Chris Brown; and his beloved dogs, Bella and Dixie.

A funeral service for Mr. Rives will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 14, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Immediately following his service, a reception will be held at Courville’s, 1744 Rose Lane, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

    We will definitely miss keno, What a great uncle, Was always ready for a game was always ready to go to vegas. He had in love for the outdoors and anything that you could grow. I always found him very interesting and fun loving. He was a great man and a great loss. Sending love in prayers.
