Lena V. Stevens

Lena V. Stevens, 89, of Beaumont, died Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born on March 10, 1927, to the late Viola Verret and Husville Verret, in St. Martinville, Louisiana. Lena moved to Port Arthur in 1944, where she began her career at Chas S. Nacol Jewelry. She served as Store Manager at the downtown Port Arthur location and later went on to manage the downtown Beaumont location for a total of thirty-eight years. In 1979, Lena established her own business, in Beaumont, Lena Stevens Jewelry. Where, for the next thirty-seven years, she served her friends, family, and the community.

Survivors include her daughters, Janet Christian of Katy and Charleen Christian of Beaumont; her “adopted” son, Michael Foster of Bridge City; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Stevens; sisters, Violet Olivier Knode and Gladys Judice.

A graveside service for Mrs. Steven’s will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February, 21, 2017, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Highway, Groves, under the direction of Broussard’s 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
