Lillie Adell Porter
Lillie Adell Porter, of Nederland, passed from this world on Saturday, June 23,2024, at age 93. Lillie was born April 19, 1931, in Galveston, Texas to Mark Delvin Johnson and Ella Mae Dick.
Lillie was a homemaker in Nederland, Texas for over 70 years, and a lifelong member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Nederland. Lillie was an independent, kind, caring sole of the Greatest Generation, who looked to find good in everyone. Lillie was loved by all who knew her.
Lillie fulfilled her life’s goal by taking extraordinary care of her family and anyone else that would let her. Lillie enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, cooking for her family and friends, loving her pets and doing whatever she could for anyone that came into her life.
Lillie is survived by her sons, Johnny Porter, of Nederland, Gary Porter, of Nederland, Tim Porter, of Nederland; grandchildren, Justin Porter, Hannah Broussard and Savanna Vizena; four great grandchildren; and sister, June Menchew of Oberlin, Louisiana.
Lillie was proceeded in death by her husband, WL “Johnny “Porter; mother, Ella Mae Johnson; father, Mark Delvin Johnson; brothers, Arlin Johnson, Harvin Johnson, Ivan Johnson (K.I.A. W.W.II), Dallas Johnson, Walter Johnson; and sisters, May Mitchell and Madelin Allen.
Lillie lived a long and exemplary life in the service of God and her fellow man. Lillie will be fondly remembered and missed by all who loved and knew her.
A graveside service for Lillie will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10306.

Sending our sympathy for your loss. We have such good memories of Ms. Lillie at Calvary Baptist Church. She was so kind and thoughtful and will always be remembered by us for her famous potato salad! Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.
Ms. Lily was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. She was one of mom’s very best friends. We loved her so much and enjoyed every minute we got to spend with her. She loved and appreciated her loving family and her Lord. She is at peace now. We will miss her greatly.

Dale. Was a very caring. Person. She was my neighbor and a good neighbor she was .our kids grew up together. She loved working. On. Her plants in her yard.she will be miss.. ..She now is at peace.God. Bless.
Lillie was loved by many. She was such a joy to be with. I missed her greatly when we moved away from Nederland.
