Linda Sheppard Hebert

April 9, 1939 - June 2, 2024

Linda Sheppard Hebert, born on April 9, 1939, passed away peacefully with her children and husband by her side on June 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 65 years, Robert (Bobby) Hebert, and her children: Jennifer and her husband Greg, Robert and his wife Jo, and Luke and his wife Angie. She was predeceased by her son David. Linda was a cherished grandmother to Taylor and his fiancée Elizabeth, Tyler, Trevor, Trey and his wife Aurora, Haley and her husband Nick, Tristan, Poppy, and Liam, and a loving great-grandmother to Judson and Cassian.

Linda is also survived by her siblings: Donald Max Sheppard and his wife Alisha, Sue Hagen and her husband Larry, Margaret Sheppard, and Kim Heinz. She was predeceased by her siblings Gene, Judy, and Mark Sheppard.

Linda graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. At TJ, she marched as a Red Hussar keeping the beat with the big bass drum. She went on to earn her Xray tech certification with honors under the direction of Sister Anthony Marie at St. Mary Hospital making dear friends along the way. Linda worked as an X Ray tech for Dr. Tritico, Park Place Hospital and Dr. Lance Craig. Linda also helped run the famous Leo and Willie’s restaurant in Port Arthur with her husband Bobby for many years. Port Arthur gives Linda and Bobby many thanks for crabmeat quiche, Bar B Q crabs as well as Leo and Willie’s special salad dressing.

Linda’s life was defined by her deep love for her family and her compassionate, caring nature. She delighted in spoiling her grandchildren, nieces and nephews with food, including her famous cornbread and lemon squares. Linda enjoyed fishing, playing dominos, and the card game Golf with her family. Her happiest moments were spent on the family homestead on Sheppard Road in Buna. She and Bobby were great friends with Mary Fay and KJ Landry who set up Linda with Bobby on a blind date. As anyone who knew them could see, it was love eternal. They shared many a game of 500 along with many great times with them.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Saku Kumar, Regina Rogers and The Gift of Life Program, Dr. Scott Sheron (and Susy), Dr. Brewster with MD Anderson, and Harbor Hospice for their excellent care.

Honorary pallbearers will be Taylor Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Trey Hebert, Tristan Thompson, Liam Hebert, Zach Heinz, Matt Hagen, and Ben Heinz. Special readings in the memorial service will be by Trevor Thompson, Haley Hebert Henson and Poppy Hebert.

A gathering of Linda’s family and friends will begin 1:00 p.m., with her memorial service to celebrate her life at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
