Martha Jean Mathews Albanese
Martha Jean Mathews Albanese, 79, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born December 17, 1943, in Beaumont, to Bernice Nichols Mathews and James “Jimmy” Woodrow Mathews. Martha worked as a gift shop owner for many years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, casino trips, and listening to Alan Jackson, Elvis, and Wayne Newton.
Martha is survived by her husband, Charles Anthony Albanese; sons, Clarence Eldon Albanese and his wife, Lisa Cicero Albanese; and Michael Lee Albanese and his wife, Deanne Nicole Wingate Albanese; granddaughter, Audrey Nicole Albanese; grandson, Ayden Cole Albanese; granddaughters, Abigail Rose Albanese, Ava Lee Albanese, and Ana Grace Albanese; and brother, James Edward Mathews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Jimmy Mathews; and brother, Richard “Ricky” Mathews.
A gathering of Mrs. Albanese’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2023, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

Gina and I are devastated by Martha’s passing. To say she was a friend is an understatement. She was a member of our family. We spent countless hours with her and Chuck over the years. She was a Godly women, loved her family, and loved to teach anyone who was willing to learn. Her passing leaves a huge void in our hearts and lives. Delight in your reward Sweet Friend. We will all meet again in a little while.
