Michael Richard Kahla

August 27, 1942 - January 17, 2024

Michael Richard Kahla passed away on January 17, 2024, in Winnie, Texas. Born on August 27, 1942, to Erwin and Eula (Harrington) Kahla, he graduated from East Chambers High School in 1960. Although he initially pursued college for three years, he chose to step out and assist his parents at home. In 1963, he was drafted into the Army, where he dedicated his service. Following his military tenure, Michael ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing his own construction company.

Later in life, he discovered joy in residing in Mexico, where he spent many fulfilling years. In 2019, he returned to Winnie, making it his home until his passing.

He leaves behind his daughter, Nicole Colvin and her husband, Zac, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Colton, Carson, Cash, Max, and Braxton. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Arboretum of Winnie.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Eula (Harrington) Kahla, as well as his three older brothers, Gilbert, Harold, and Everett Kahla, along with his sister-in-law Juanita Kahla.

Mr. Kahla’s cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.
