Mike Burford
Mike Burford, 68, of Beaumont, died Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center, Houston. He was born June 5, 1955, in Beaumont, to Verna Elizabeth King Burford and Horace Andrew Burford, Jr. Mike loved being outside with his pets, garden, and feeding his deer.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Burford; daughter-in-law, Tambi Powell of Beaumont; brother, Horace D. Burford of Benton, Arkansas; sisters, Martha Gilbert of Houston and Peggy Romero of Lumberton; grandson, Kolin Powell; sisters-in-law, Debbie Lopez of Beaumont and Brenda Cromwell of Sour Lake; nieces, Michelle Colledge and her husband, Jason, of Richmond; Heather Waybright and her husband, Jonzack, of Sour Lake; nephew, Brandon Cromwell; niece, Casey Burleson and her husband, Aaron, all of Sour Lake; nephews, Kris Romero and his wife, Ashlinn of Lumberton; Brian Romero of Lumberton; Mark Romero of Austin; niece, Katie Romero of League City; close special friends, Kaylee Steddum of Beaumont; Kyle Daniel and his daughter, Abby; Kim Powell; and numerous cousins and other family members.
Mike is preceded in death by his son, Chris Powell; his parents, Verna Elizabeth King Burford and Horace Andrew Burford, Jr.; and his mother-in-law, Naomi Cabe.
A gathering of Mr. Burford’s family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., with a Time of Sharing at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, 2050 Spindletop Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77705.
