Phyllis Ann Davis Theriot

May 29, 1957 - June 18, 2023

Phyllis Ann Davis Theriot went home to spend eternity with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 18, 2023. She was surrounded by her loved ones holding her hand. She lived a long, happy life and was well loved.

Phyllis was born on May 29, 1957, in Nederland, the fourth child of the late James “Arky” Davis and Bettie Cowart Davis. She attended Nederland High School, graduating in 1975. Phyllis met the love of her life, John Theriot, at the skating rink in 1972. They married November 7, 1975, and had one son, Jason.

Phyllis spent her life loving and caring for her husband and son. She was always excited to be a part of the Nederland Band Booster Club supporting Jason’s love for music. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with family. Together she and Jason spent special holidays baking their legendary peanut butter cookies for family and friends. Being somewhat competitive, she enjoyed playing games with family and friends.

In addition to her grandparents and parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her lifelong best friend, Patricia Fox of Nederland.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving family, including her husband, John Theriot; son, Jason Theriot; brothers, Randy Davis and wife Chris, of Fate, Texas, and Mike Davis and wife, Janice, of Groves, Texas; sister, Paula Adaway and husband, Richard; uncle, Weldon Davis and wife, Mary, of Dallas; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family extends gratitude to DaVita Dialysis Center of Nederland, Bonne Vie Skilled Nursing Facility of Port Arthur and Best Hospice of Texas, for the compassion and care provided over the past seven and half years.

Phyllis touched the lives of her family and friends as no one else could. Her loving and caring spirit, and witty sense of humor will be missed. A celebration of life will be held at Broussard’s Mortuary, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852 or (www.kidneyfund.org).
