Rose Lagina Smart, 51, of Kountze, died Sunday, June 2, 2024. She was born on August 19, 1972, in Beaumont, to Margie Nell Broom Riley and Jerry Paul Riley.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Smart; children, Casey Smart and his wife, Victoria, of Kountze; and Emily Rose Smart of Germany; grandchildren, Ryker Smart and Rory Smart; mother and father, Margie and Jerry Riley, Sr. of Kountze; and brothers, Jerry Riley, Jr. of Kountze; and Eric Riley and his wife, Cindy, of Silsbee.
A gathering of Mrs. Smart’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. Her funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2024, at Broussard’s. Her interment will follow at Hooks Cemetery, Kountze.

I am so sorry to find out about Rose. Unfortunately I’m working out of town. I hate to miss the service. I have been friends with her since we went to Mrs Mcgoughs preschool. I don’t have one memory of her without a smile on her face. She was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.

Mr and Mrs. Riley I’m so sorry to hear about Rose. I had no idea..just saw it on Facebook. I drive a charter bus all over the place so I’m on the road 90% of the time..will try and make it to visitation if I can..Yall are in my prayers..love yall
