Virginia Fay Callaway

December 24, 1947 - October 13, 2023

Virginia Fay Callaway, 75, of Silsbee, died Friday, October 13, 2023.  She was born on December 24, 1947, in Silsbee, to Helen Crawford Chance and Alford Chance.

Virginia worked as a bus driver for Silsbee Independent School District for over thirty years before retiring in 2016.  She was a devoted member of Wiley Mae Pentecostal Church and she loved her church family.

Survivors include her son, Ira Callaway and his wife, Misty, of Spurger; grandson, Ryder Callaway of Spurger; siblings, Roy Chance and his wife, Evelyn and Nelvia Hollyfield, all of Silsbee; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sheila Sharp.

A gathering of Virginia’s family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Wiley Mae Pentecostal Church, 8545 FM 92, Silsbee, under the direction of Broussard’s, Silsbee.  Her interment will follow at Franks Branch Cemetery, Fred.
