A Family Concern

In the late 1800's, Alex Broussard, owner of A. Broussard Livery Stable, opened his first funeral parlor in Southeast Texas. That first wood framed parlor was soon replaced by a large brick facility in downtown Beaumont which still stands today. Later, the family firm moved to a large, stately home at the corner of Calder Avenue and Forest Street. In 1958, they moved to one of their present locations in a quiet neighborhood on McFaddin in Beaumont.

Continuing Our Traditions

Orville Neil Odom

Orville Neil Odom, 85, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. A gathering of Mr. Odom’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Consolata Cemetery, 2300 Country Club Road, Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Minos Wayne Dubois

Minos Wayne Dubois, 75, of Port Arthur, died Monday, April 29, 2024. He was born July 16, 1948, in Abbeville, Louisiana, to Laura and Minos Dubois. Minos was an avid fisherman and hunter. He adored his fur baby T-Boog. In his younger years he enjoyed traveling very much. Survivors include his son, Chad Dubois, and his wife, Crystal, of Port Arthur; sister, Rochelle Badgett, and her husband, David, of Nederland; stepdaughters, Windy Patterson of Nederland and Mindy Anderson, and her husband, Joe, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Hunter, Rex, Sela, Sloane, Price, Reece, Faith, Josiah, Tylore, Dustyn, Brytannee; great-grandchild, Tatum. He is preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Kathryn. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Richard “Rusty” Ryall

Richard “Rusty” Ryall was born May 11, 1965, in Jasper, Texas. Rusty died peacefully on April 28, 2024, at Village Creek Rehabilitation Center in Lumberton, Texas. Rusty is preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Ryall Walker and his uncle, the Honorable Ronald Walker. Rusty is survived by his cousin, Judge Layne Walker and his wife, Cynthia Walker, and their children: Courtney Duhon and her husband Dylan; Layne Walker Jr. and his wife, Cassandra; Kyle Walker and his wife, Shelby; and his cousins, Ted L. Walker, Rhonda Collier and Danny Walker; and uncle, Ted G. Walker and his wife, Mary Lou Walker; along with numerous other family that loved Rusty. Rusty never met a stranger.
