Rebecca Jane Rabalais

July 12, 1946 - May 10, 2020

Rebecca Jane Rabalais, 73, of Beaumont, went to be with God Sunday, May 10, 2020. She was born on July 12, 1946, to Effie Darbonne Guillory and Tillis Guillory, in Deridder, Louisiana. Rebecca had a passion for teaching and enjoyed being creative with arts and crafts and stamping. She was a member of the Red Hats Group. Everyone enjoyed Rebecca cooking her special gumbos and pies. Her family was very special to her. She has touched many lives with her gentle spirit.

Survivors include her daughter, Eva Marie Rabalais of Beaumont; sisters, JoAnn Crossno and her husband, Champ of Shreveport, Louisiana; Karen Mayeux and her husband, Johnny, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Lillian Atwood of Austin; Juliet Schaeffer, Benjamin Squires, Charlotte Squires, and Magnus Townsend, all of Beaumont; and Caroline Rabalais of Houston; and nephews and nieces, Randy Guillory and his wife, Barbara, of Mandeville, Louisiana; Deidre Remington of Bellville; and Amy Trench and her husband, Jeff, of San Antonio.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tillis and Effie Guillory; husband, John Wayne Rabalais; and son, Dennis Wayne Rabalais.

A gathering of Mrs. Rabalais family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 2020, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
