I am glad I had the chance to talk to Mr Bailey a few weeks ago he was in good spirits and as usual gave me good sound advice on the questions I had for him. His wisdom will truly be missed by me for sure, as he was a great leader in the home building business. His dedication to the people he trusted brought out the best in them he helped guide me when I started a new business two years ago and I will never forget what he told me. Tim I know its tough for you but you were his pride and joy , remember the car you received at graduation , we talked about that all the time he enjoyed those conversations I could tell. God Bless The Bailey Family

I am so very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. While I knew Tom for 45+ years, over the past 9 months really got to know him. Tom and I had many long phone conversations during that period - we literally would spend hours on the phone - primarily talking about his illness and him looking to me for advise on care, diet, etc. Tom was always very close to my brother and knew that I cared for him when he had the same health issues as Tom. Such a dear, sweet man who I consider a great friend. God bless Tom - I will miss our very special talks...no more pain.

Tom was a friend and business acquaintance whom I was fortunate to know over 17 years. During this time, he called on me numerous times to do remodeling and general maintenance on his home, his daughter's home, and his office complex. Working for him was a pleasure because he always had all the details worked out and any supplies needed, so it was easy to focus on meeting the high standards he expected. We had a great relationship in this respect. He helped me transition from corporate America to my own small business of home remolding. He referred tens of dozens of customers to me. He was in touch with a lot of people, people I would never been able to do work for without his recommendation. His credibility opened a lot of doors for me and helped me tremendously. Many times, I would get a phone call that started with, "Mr. Bailey gave me your number. . .". Furthermore, I could call Tom if I needed advise as he would talk me thru a situation or have me call someone who could help when needed. I feel so honored to have known this kind and thoughtful individual all these years and I will miss him greatly.

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. When I met Tom as our paths crossed at Regina Howell Elementary, we became instant friends. He spent a lot of time with his granddaughter Kaitlin there. My daughter was a year ahead of her so we had several years to bond. That bond continued after Tom met PD and they loved talking baseball. He shared baseball stories of his time playing, and he even came out to support our son when he played at West Brook. We always enjoyed talking with Tom. He shared Astros tickets with us to the All Star Game and World Series. He was gentle and kind. We will miss him. Our prayers go out to Gaynell and all of Tom's family and friends that will miss this special man.

Thirty-six years ago, April of 1983, a nice gentleman arrived at Vincent-Beck Stadium one hour before the gates were to open for the first home game for the Beaumont Golden Gators. He walked into the park, leaned against the fence and proceeded to watch batting practice. At some point I saw him and apologized that he would need to step outside of the gates until we were ready to open for business. He introduced himself to me, and that began a 36 year relationship with Tom Bailey! Since I didn't know him prior to then, I didn't know he was a season ticket holder, an advertiser on our fence (2 signs!) and in our scorebook! He spent many a night sitting behind home plate analyzing each game and each player the San Diego Padres sent us. Tom became great friends with many of them.... Lance McCullers, Pat Casey, Kevin Towers, Mark Gillespie and so many more. He would let them play golf at his club, and they never were expected to pay a dime. He became friends with their spouses and helped them however he could. And, he kept in touch with them as they progressed in baseball, even flying to watch them pitch and play in the Majors. Tom and I would talk every few months. We'd catch up on personal things and then spend the rest of the call talking baseball. He went to numerous World Series games, several All Star Games and countless other sporting events. One of his most memorable trips was a weekend with me in Indiana and Ohio. We went to Notre Dame on Saturday to tour the campus and watch the Irish, then proceeded to drive to Cleveland to watch the Browns play his Dallas Cowboys! He was so impressed with Notre Dame and we continued to greet each other with the phrase, "Welcome to Notre Dame" which you hear frequently on campus and at the stadium. That made a lasting impression on him. The City of Beaumont has lost a great business man. The family's loss is imaginable, and his friends, like me and so many others, have lost a kind, caring, generous and gem of a man. My sympathies to the entire Bailey Family. Welcome to Notre Dame Tom. Lou Valentic

I was sorry to learn of Tom's passing. Tom was a good friend and great nextdoor neighbor. He has helped me on numerous projects with his expertise as a homebuilder. I will miss him. I could not have had a better neighbor living next door.

Mark W. Stiles

Southeast Texas has lost a great businessman and home builder. His family has lost a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Many of us have lost a good friend. Many of us lost a great mentor. He taught me many important lessons in life. He gave me many opportunities when in my young professional life, they were hard to come by. What a good example of a man that made it on his own. Nobody ever gave him a thing. He worked for his oppportunities. Rest well my friend.

Farrell and Debbie Smith

Debbie and I only learned about Tom today. We are very sorry and pray that his family finds the peace and comfort that only the Lord can give during these difficult times. It was 35 years ago this Spring that Tom built our home in Willow Creek and we still own it. He was great to deal with in the construction process and Debbie always said there will never be another Tom Bailey. He had our respect and admiration. We would see him at church or out eating and he would always stop to check in. We will miss seeing him and catching up.

Richard Payne

Tom built our first house in Willow Creek. We have since moved & built 2 other houses. Tom did a better job, by far, than any of the others, including major builders. He was the best builder we ever dealt with. Our prayers are with the family.
