Hello, Gwen.
I hope you, your son and Al’s family are Ok. It must bring some comfort to read all of these wonderful tributes. He truly made a difference.
Baby Gwen
I was so sad when doc retired, knowing I would never find anyone that could even start to replace that kind caring gentle humble man. Went through so many happy and difficult times over the years with all the cats and dogs I brought in to him. I trusted Doc so completely, knowing the care he was giving, or advising not to get was the best advice I could possibly get.
My condolences to his family. Thank you all for all the hours you shared him with us. Rest in Peace dear sweet Doc.
To Doc’s family,
Dr. Wehner took care of all my dogs and one cat for 34 years. He was the best vet I ever had for my pets. He was already missed, as was his kindness and calm way of treating our fur babies. I can’t say enough what a great vet he was to my pets. So sorry for his passing. Family, please know how much we loved him.
Jo Frances Manuel

Your legacy lives on Al !

Doc was our vet from the day he opened until he retired. No one had a love for animals like he did. He was always so fun to talk with. My condolences to his family. He will be greatly missed.
He was the best vet. The Boone’s recommended him when I was looking for a good vet. He was professional, kind,& compassionate. He put several pets of ours down @ no charge. He had a sense of humor that left us smiling .
May you rip.
I met Al when I was a young girl through my mom and Gwen. He was always the nicest man and the best Veterinarian anyone could ask for. He helped save my fur babies on more than one occasion and was compassionate when it was the end of the road for my animals as well. My condolences to Gwen, Aletha and Clement. He will be missed.
My deepest condolences to The Wehner family and all of Doc’s friends. Sending many prayers to all for peace and comfort. Doc was a good man and I know he made a positive impact in so many lives including my brother Les’. He started as Les’ boss over 40 yrs ago and became his best friend. Oh the stories I have heard! Funnies ones of course!
Doc was a great vet and loved animals. There is a special place in heaven for him for sure. Love and peace to all!
Dr. Wehner is on the fluffiest cloud in heaven, surrounded by all God’s creatures he cared for.
I just loved Doc’s bedside manner with my pets throughout the years! Regarding my sweet overweight cat he said, “she’s okay, she’s just at her happy weight!” He will be truly missed by so many! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family! Sincerely, Mary Pat
We’ve known Al most of his life having taught him in MYF when he was in Jr. High.
He became our vet his first year out of Aggieland and remained so until he retired. Our countless dogs and cats never had it so good. We bought a farm in Tyler County together, dividing it down the middle of a pond, providing us many hours of peace and pleasure as rural neighbors. We often waved at one another “across the pond” that we called our “lake” and hoped we’d all end up retired here. Health got in the way of Al’s dream before he could fully realize it. Linda and I now sit on our porch and listen still for signs Al is mowing or just puttering around. The silence is deafening. Rest in peace, Al.

Peace and comfort to the Wehner family. Our family thought of Doc as a friend..he was one of the best Vets anyone could ever want…and his care and compassion for all our pets was more than you could ever imagine. The thought of him being with all his past furry friends warms my heart..
R. I. P. DOC…you were “One of a Kind”….!!
To the entire Wehner Family may God wrap his loving arms around you and bring you peace and comfort.
I know I will miss our discussions extolling the attributes of the Noonday onion.
Dr. Wehner was the best! We will miss you, Al! You were a great Vet and one of the nicest people we have ever known. Thank you for always going the extra mile to put our minds at ease when we were stressing out about one of our dogs being sick. Thank you for being so patient and accessible all the time. Please Doc pet and play with all your old four-legged friends including Max, Ben, Buddy, and especially Sammie. We wish the family peace and pray love will provide some comfort during this time of sorrow.
Dr. Wehner was my veterinarian for forty-six years. The man was a genius with animals and people. I certainly admired the way he would explain everything so clearly. Out of all the people I’ve ever met, he was the most talented! Best veterinarian award!
I cannot think of anyone who has had a greater influence on me and the person I have become than Dr Wehner. I worked under his wisdom & tutelage from 1978 until 1987 as a Veterinary assistant and followed in his footsteps upon graduation as a Veterinarian on my own and still practice today in League City. His skills professionally as well as his compassion and rapport with both the patients and the parents in this fulfilling profession were a goal I still try to match but humbly admit I doubt I could equal. He shared both professional and life wisdom that I carry with me every day of my life and I have truly been blessed to have the luxury and opportunity to call him a colleague and more importantly a dear friend. He will be sorely missed but always in my heart
We met Al over 40 years ago through Gwen. He was one of the nicest persons you could ever meet. He was the most caring and patient veterinarian for our fur babies. I’m glad I was able to bring him a pie the last time he returned home from the hospital. Our sympathy and love to Gwen, Clement and Aletha.
I am so sorry to hear of Doc’s passing. He was my vet 46 years. I was 17 when I first started going to Calder Animal Clinic. What a wonderful man and the best vet hands down. I remember him telling me to hold my big dogs mouths close to me so if they wanted to bite that they would bite me and not him. What an honor it was to know him and have my dogs treated by him throughout the years. My sincere sympathy to Gwen and the rest of the family. A beautiful man and caring vet gone too soon. Rest in peace Doc. I know you have many animals in Heaven that are happy to see you again.
I loved Dr. Wehner and his calm professionalism. After awhile, one becomes accustomed to having access to good and skilled people. And we, the benefactors of our animals, were fortunate, indeed, to rely on this fine, fine professional.
Consider this quote from James Herriot’s book “All Creatures Great and Small.”
“The best doctor in the world is the veterinarian. He can’t ask his patients what is the matter – he’s got to just know.”
.
“The best doctor in the world is the veterinarian. He can’t ask his patients what is the matter – he’s got to just know.”
I moved to Beaumont from New England back in 1991 and soon thereafter got our first dog .I was introduced to Doc and we hit it off instantly and he became our Vet till the day of his retirement. He took care of our Huskies for almost 30 years like they were his own,as I`m sure he did with all his families and their pets. As the years went on we became great friends and our talks of family , food ,golf and animals went on for hours each time we were together. The community lost a legend this past weekend , and I (we The Baione Family) lost a great friend.Love and Prayers go out to his entire family. May GOD Bless his soul and may he rest in peace.
Gwen, Aletha, and Clement,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Doc. He was not only my role model, but also my mentor. As a child, I looked up to him, and I would say that I wanted to be a veterinarian and “own my own place, just like Doc.” I always tell people the story of when I knew I wanted to be become a veterinarian, which was when I was shadowing Doc during a surgery. When I was ready to apply to vet school, he kindly wrote a recommendation letter. While in vet school, I spent two weeks with him for an externship. He was so excited to not just teach me, but also learn things from me that they were currently teaching. I am so grateful for having him in my life, as I know he made a huge impact on me and I would not be where I am today without him.
I wish I would have kept up with him more over the last few years. Thankfully I ran into him while in San Antonio a couple of years ago at a veterinary convention, and I am now so thankful for that conversation with him. Unfortunately I can’t make it to the service on Friday, but know that I will be thinking about you guys and Doc, and my family and I will miss him dearly.
So devoted to his care for our pets.
There is nothing to be said that hasn’t already been said. He was truly the best Vet . There won’t be anymore like him. Prayers for all of his family🙏❤️
There is nothing to say , but Doc was the very best there was!!! He took care of all of our dogs. He pulled out more fishing lures caught up in our dogs than I want to say….. He was simply the best. Prayers for all of you🙏❤️
Al was a friend and a great vet. Caring and compassionate. He will be missed by all .
Having Al treat my pets gave me great comfort because of his care for them. My deepest sympathy is extended to his family.
Al was a good friend and a great caring vet. You knew your your animals were in good hands with Al. I haven’t seen Al much since moving from Beaumont but I always enjoyed his company. I know my fur babies in heaven are in good hands.
Reading all the comments describes a very special man of high integrity and a caring heart! He is a wonderful example of how to live life. Blessings to his wonderful family and all who loved him. He will be missed.
There isn’t anything I can say about this wonderful man that hasn’t already been said. He indeed was the best vet ever or ever will be because there will be no one who will love & care for your fur babies the way he did. I guess I was his biggest pest because I could do nothing for my girls without calling “Al” first, always had to get his opinion on everything even after he moved to the farm. Before that is I was upset, he could interrupt his dinner to meet me at the clinic. I honestly thought the man could walk on water & I have said that many times. There will never be another man who will love your pets like he did. I could write a book about the things he did for me as I know the rest of you could. God bless you Gwen, Clement & Aletha for sharing him with us. I remember calling him after one of his surgeries & he said he felt like a new man, if only that could have lasted. Prayers & thoughts are with you Gwen & your family & may you rest in peace Doc, with all your beloved fur babies. Oh how we are going to miss you!!
It was a joy to have known Dr. Wehner! He truly loved his profession and those that he served! I am grateful to have been able to see you and joke with you, at our last visit! Peace and blessings to the Mrs. Wehner and Family!
Bill & Janet,
My sincere condolences to all of the Wehner family. Dr. Wehner was our entire family’s vet for all of our pets. over many years. He was the best, and so kind and compassionate. He was truly an asset to our community and will be missed by many!
My heart is broken. He was an amazing vet and friend. I haven’t yet found someone I trust with my pet the way I trusted him. He had that personal touch that put confidence in everything he did or said. 😢
There will never be another “Doc”. I have many fond memories of him and his unwavering commitment to all his patients. I loved this man. My condolences to his family, he’ll be missed but never forgotten. I literally just told a story about him yesterday when my dog swallowed a bird whole in front of me, I was hysterical and called Doc. He said “ Carol, I can’t save the bird but let nature take its course and I promise Seven will pass the bird” and he did feathers and all. My day started off this morning receiving a text he died on Friday. Dang it!
As a young veterinarian new to Beaumont, Al was exceptionally gracious to me even though I didn’t work for him and was considered a competitor. It was very clear that his aim was to help people and their pets. All other considerations were secondary. His reputation in the community echoed those sentiments. He was someone we all respected in the veterinary community. This is a legacy that will live on. It is truly a blessing that we had Al in our community. It was a blessing for me to have him as a role model. Thanks Al. Enjoy your rest! You deserve Heaven more than most.
Dr. Al Wehner, in my opinion, was the Best of the Best. He took great care of all our furry babies for 35 years. Especially Rio our yellow lab, who crossed over the rainbow bridge many years ago. Every time I would see Doc after he retired, he would always mentioned Rio and the eye surgery he performed on him. I could go on an on about our Doc, but Ken and I would like to send our condolence to Doc’s family. Gwen, you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers and know that Doc will always have a special place in our hearts.
We are so saddened to hear of Doc’s passing, our sincere condolences to his family, and friends. We are thankful for all the years of his wisdom, and kindness to our many fur babies. He will be missed, loved, and remembered, he was the best vet, and friend, to our family. Rest in peace Doc,
Doc was simply the best vet ever! I had complete faith in him when it came to our pups. He was kind, loving, and I never doubted that he cared as much for our pet’s welfare as we did. Gwen, Aletha, and Clement, I am so very sorry for your loss. He was a great man, and I know you will miss him beyond measure. May God wrap each of you in his arms, and give you peace and comfort.
He will be missed. Doc was the best veterinarian and friend hands down. He took such great care of all my fur babies, birds, ducks whatever I brought him for over 30 years. It just seems like yesterday he was telling me he was going retiring. I was like not until you spay my last fur baby. Lol Which he did. 🙏🙏
What a gift God gave us and our animals! My sincere condolences to the Wehner family. He will be missed.
God bless you all,
Jim

If Dr. Wehner had not retired I would still be there dedicated to working for him. Dr Wehner was the closest man you will ever know to being Honest Abe. ( I’m sure he would disagree with that statement. ) I mean he had a strong knowing of right and wrong. He would take back the receipt and say “ I’ve got two and you only charged me for one, so how much more do I owe you.” He knew karma would come back and bite him if he didn’t make it right. If he could fix your animal with soap and water he would tell you. If it wasn’t fixable he would also tell you. He was dedicated to his job (our animals) his Whole Life. Keeping a take home note in his pocket of people to call. So not to forget their need to hear back from him regarding their pets condition (after hours). If your pet passed away he didn’t wait till the end of the day to notify you. He stopped and called you right then. Your pets were handled with the love and respect given the utmost care.
My motto used to be that “there are givers and takers in this world, which one are you?” Dr. Wehner was a giver. Not only can you count your best friends on one hand, but you can also count the smartest people you know on one hand. Smart and good common sense are two qualities that are hard to find together. There something hard about losing the smartest person you know. Someone you depend on for answers that you trust.
He loved Gwen very much. He was happy for her anytime that she could get a break to travel and as time went on happy for any little break she could get. Gwen stood strong by his side every step of the way. She gave it her ALL and fought for him hard also. My prayers are with her in her journey to come.
He fought for himself just as hard as he fought for all of his clients animals. He went above and beyond the call of duty to give them every opportunity to get another day. He appreciated life. No matter how small, no matter how smelly and dirty. No matter who owned the animal. They were given special care as if they were the only one left in existence. What a faithful servant he was. He will be loved and missed very much!
Doc was the absolute best! He gave me my very first dog when I was 5 years old and I know Happy was there waiting for him! He was truly one of a kind and will be missed terribly. A lifetime of memories of the stellar care he gave to all of our furry loved ones , he will never be forgotten.
I’m so sorry! My prayers are with you all! We truly loved him. He will be so very missed as he already was when he left his clinic. He was our first and only vet since we moved her in 1978. He helped all my critters, including my rabbits. My prayers will be with you always until we all meet again!💜🥰✝️God grant you peace through this most difficult time.
Love,
Kami, David, Jon and Caroline (which I’m very sure she met him at the pearly gate with all her animals🥰) Barnett
Al was a good friend and a wonderful caring vet. His companion ship was enjoyable. I know that my fur babies in heaven will be in good hands.
I was 14 years old in 1974 and would ride my bannana seat bicycle to Dr. Weyner with my Mom’s poodle in the basket. He was our family vet.
In the 1980’s me met me at 7.30 p.m. unlocked the building and saved my hamster from near death from eating mouse poison. A shot of the vitamin K to stop the bleeding.
In the 1990’s through his last year of practice my age now in my early 60’s he met me with the various animals over the decades literally prolonging their lives when no else tried.
He cannot be replaced.
There is no other like him. An exceptional man.
I don’t even know where to start. Al “Doc” was the best of the best. He cared more for his furry patients and their owners than any other vet in town. I started going to him right after he opened his business on Calder. We got to be friends through the years. We went through hard times together and good times. Our youngest kids were born within months of each other. We had them in our later years and discussed them often. He wanted my daughter to be a vet and take over his business. They discussed it often but she decided not to be a veterinarian. We talked several times after he retired when he talked me out of crisis with my dogs. I remember him calling my Pomeranian (Missy), Cujo because he said if she was bigger she would have eaten him up. In later years he called her Timex because she kept on ticking. She lived to be 16 under his care. In fact I had several dogs that lived to 16 all because of him. He stayed up all night trying to save one of my Rottweiler that had leukemia. We laughed a lot through the years and he watched me cry. That was just his natural to give his all. I will miss him dearly. and will many others. I’m so thankful I was able to tell him how much he meant to me. He was truly loved and respected by everyone that knew him! Praying for his family and friends!
Al was a good friend he was a great caring vet and his company was always enjoyable. I know that my four fur babies in heaven will be well cared for.
I first started going to Calder Animal Clinic in the mid 80’s. I’ve been through so many sweet pups since those days. Doc was always so kind and helpful. He even said things like, “I can charge you a bunch of money for a fancy shampoo or you can go to Walmart and buy Ivory shampoo.” My dog had very irritated skin. One time that I took 4 pups at once, I complained that my doxi/corgi mix was getting fat. He said, “So is his doctor.” During one trip, he found a problem under the microscope. He called out for me to come to the lab. He said,” Come look at this!” He not only treated my pups, he educated me on so many things. I loved his candor, his personal style, and all of the hugs that he gave during difficult times. He will truly be missed.
What can be said that hasn’t already been said? Doc was fantastic! He was my vet from 1974. Even when I moved away I brought Molly back to Beaumont because I trusted him. All of these memories bring a smile to my heart reminding me what a true blessing he was to all of us. I am thankful my last time to see him was at the farm. What a beautiful day. Doc will be missed by everyone. My prayers are for his family.
Dr. Wehner took great care of our dogs and cats for as long as I can remember. Seemingly, some vets are in the practice for financial gain. Dr. Wehner put taking great care of the animals first, and never worried about the financial side of things. I had the honor of working on several of his vehicles and play toys over the years. My shop painted his yellow Jeep once back around 2000, and then we repainted it again here at Sata Collision where I now work a couple of years ago. Dr. Wehner was well liked by everybody I knew of. I know that all of his buddies over at the play shop that several of his pals and himself shared to tinker with their vehicles will miss him terribly. God inherited a fine man.
So sorry to hear about “Doc.” He was the G.O.A.T.(Greatest of all Time in Vets). He gave such loving, special care to all his animals and treated his clients with the same care and respect. Absolutely, one of a kind and cannot be replaced.
Thoughts and prayers to the family.
Al was simply the best. When my dog, Casey was young, I had to drag her in to see Doc. After a few years, her tail wagged so hard it almost broke, every time we pulled up to the clinic. Dogs know!
Doc was a very caring person. He took care of many of our furry friends. Pat, Jeannine, Jeff, Jennifer Patterson
Our deepest condolences and prayers. Al was such a wonderful person. He took great care of my animals over the years…during Rita we relocated to Corpus Christi and my show dog was attacked by three pit bulls and almost lost his ear. Al called me from his farm and spoke to the local vet to make sure he was cared for. He called me every day to check on him until we returned home and he took over his care. Doc will be missed greatly by our family.
Al was so special to so many people including me and all of my family for many, many years. My family was one of the first to use his clinic. He has taken care of all of our pets during the fun times of getting a new pet and the sad times of having to say goodbye to our fur babies. He will be very missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The advice or direction he gave to us when decisions had to be made for the care of our pets was always taken because it was always right. Prayers for his sweet family.
Dr. Wehner, the Vet that was the best of the best, no doubt! He cared for all of our fur babies with much love and compassion. But, there was one fur baby named “Biscuit”, a little white pic-a-poo, that was as mean as the devil, but oh how we loved him. Biscuit went into kidney failure and Dr. Wehner took him to his farm for the weekend because he had put him on dialysis. He cared for Biscuit and nursed him back to good health and we were able to enjoy Biscuit many more years. Dr. Wehner went far and beyond his call of duty knowing how mean Biscuit was. Thank you, Dr. Wehner! We hope that Biscuit is nicer in Heaven! Good luck! And then, there was “Al”, our beloved brother-in-law. Our holidays will never be the same. Al’s holiday tradition was to cook and carve the turkey. He did both with great expertise!! He even came up with his own unique recipe for the stuffing. Quite a cook!! Oh, how we will miss him!! So, brother-in-law, this is not “good-bye”, it’s “see ya later”! We will all be together again, and Biscuit too!
My Uncle All was and will always be one of my favorites. He was one of the kindest, most humble, smartest, giving, caring, and the list goes on…. man I have known. I remember going up to the clinic as a child and watching him care for the animals. He cared for every single one of them as if it was his own. He always knew what to say and was wise beyond measure. Thank you for being the best uncle! I will miss you but I know I will see you again….
I can’t come up with any new comments! They have all been said. What a great tribute that is to Al. My heart is sad and prayers to his family. Too many experiences with my animals to share.
Such a sad loss for so many, pround to have had him as a colleague and a friend. God Speed, Dr. Wehner you will be missed, my friend.
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Wehner. I was blessed to work for him in the 70’s and 80’s. I was so blessed to look forward to going to work every day. He wasn’t just my employer he was a dear friend, my mentor, my teacher. A very intelligent, interesting and generous man, devoted to his career in veterinary medicine. His sense of humor was hilarious! He was a pleasure to work with and taught me everything about veterinary medicine. When he told me he was retiring, he said I should continue to use the new group at the clinic. I told him I couldn’t possibly walk in the clinic and him not be there! I will always be grateful for having known this man. May you RIP, Doc. You will forever be loved and remembered. Prayers for comfort for his family,
Al was our vet from 1974 until he retired. He set the bar HIGH for all future veterinarians.
He was a good, kind man.
He’ll be welcomed into Heaven by a host of furry friends💕
Al took care of ALL of our families’ pets!!
Not only a great Vet (and a Fightin Texas Aggie) but also truly a great man!!
We have already missed him in his practice. Now we are saddened to miss him in life. But, our tears will soon be replaced with smiles from the memories he left us with.
🙏🏼
Sending condolences to the family. Dr. Wehner was the most amazing and caring Veterinarian I’ve ever known. He held me many a times through sad times of losing my fur babies. He will never be forgotten that’s for sure. May he rest in peace. My family treasured him.
So sorry for the loss of Doc. He was the best.
Doc, thank you for taking care of my fur babies. You will have a special place in heaven for your caring kindness for our pets and also for the pet mom’s and dad’s. Blessings to a wonderful human!
What a wonderful and caring man. He was a very gifted veterinarian who cared deeply for the “parents” of his patients and the concerns and sometimes grief they often experienced. Al always went the extra mile for my fur babies. What a gift he was to my family.
I’m so incredibly sad to hear of Doc’s passing. He was truly the best of the best. I was so lucky to have him as our family vet and to go to school with Clement my entire childhood. I remember all the Blessing of the Pets at All Saints and of course Doc and Gwen are why we are a sulcata family too. We still constantly quote things he has said to us over the years. Truly one of a kind. I am sorry I missed out on chatting with y’all the last time I was in town and saw y’all at Toyko. Praying for peace and healing during the time of this tremendous loss. He is so missed!
My condolences to the family. I adored Dr. Wehner. He was more than a Vet, he was my friend. I will always be grateful to him for the hours and days and years spent caring for my beloved pets and numerous others throughout his career. I miss you and may God bless and comfort your family.
I am beyond sad to hear of this. The best veterinarian Beaumont ever had. Starting in the mid 1970’s he took care of all our fur babies. I was so sad when he retired and sadder still now. Sympathies to everyone is his family.
Al was the most compassionate, caring, and learned physician to our numerous fur babies over the past 40+ years. From our very first stray cat as newlyweds, to our beloved lab in our empty nest years, Al was there. Even post retirement he checked in, and we with him, until our sweet dog crossed the rainbow bridge. He was always available as our kids grew up with their various pets, and even took time for interviews for their school projects. He remained available for consultations as they were away during their college years about their own pets, and beyond when they needed a trusted “2nd opinion”.
We will miss Al as our friend and trusted veterinarian. We give our sincere condolences to his family, and pray God’s peace over you all.
There’s not enough space on here to talk about all the times doc helped me get my animals well. He was one of a kind. Rest in peace my friend… You’re definitely going to be missed.MY sincere sympathies to his family. Al, I hope you play better golf up there.
Doc will forever be known as the “VET GOD” in my book. I soaked up everything he said like a sponge each time I went in with one of my pets or rescue animals. He was the BEST!!! I only wish I would have kept all the explanations/drawings he did on the paper towels of what was going on with my pet or what would be done during a procedure on my pet. The world is a better place because of Doc. I know he will be missed by many.
So sorry to hear of Al’s passing. He was a dear person and the best veterinarian around. Prayers of comfort for his family and friends.
When he enters heaven he will be greeted by hundreds of 4 paw fur babies. He was loved by many and truly missed. His loved for animals showed..
May he RIP ✝️. AND hug the little ones. 🐾 ❤️
So sorry to hear this hoss loved u miss uin thoughts prayers for family.
Doc will always have a special place in our hearts. He was a wonderful friend and will be dearly missed. My prayers and deepest sympathies are with his family.
Our deepest sympathy to his family. He gave each and every one of my pups and my parents so much love and care. He was such a wonderful person. He will be dearly missed by all.
Praying for peace and comfort for Doc. his family and friends. We all entrusted the care of our family pets into this man’s hands. I must say he showered them with the same love and compassion as each of us did. GOD bless you Doc. for all the kindness .

RIH Dr. Wehner “Al”
I have known “Al”for many years. What a great man and a lover of all animals.. He will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers for his family.
Gwen praying for peace and healing for you and your family. Al was such a great guy. Loved you two so much.
Doc was one of the most caring people I have ever had the privilege to have in my life. I will be forever sorry that I wasn’t able to tell him goodbye one last time when he retired. My late husband’s and my long history with dachshunds could not have had a better caregiver than Dr. Wehner. Thank you, Doc.
My sincere sympathy for the family and friends. Doc. Was one of the best veterinarians I ever seen he could look at the dog and he knew just about what was wrong with it. He will be missed God sure got him a good veterinary up there.
Al was one of my favorite people in the world! We would see Al during the good times when we brought our new pets in, spayed, neutered, or removed eyes for rescues, he was always up for it and amazing. He was able to guide us through so many of our furry family sad times including our precious Blossom and ohh, how he tried to save her. Aletha was there to be her nurse and what a team they made. We are so sorry for your loss, Gwen, Aletha and Clement. Much love, Taryn & Henry
Al wasn’t just our vet for the 21 years we lived in Beaumont before moving to Lake Sam Rayburn, but such a great friend. We stayed friends with Al & Gwen after we moved. I am heartbroken for Gwen, Clement and Aletha. 💔🐾
Dr. Wehner was the absolute best! He took care of my family’s pets for many years and we are all so grateful to have had him for our veterinarian. Dr. Wehner always went the extra mile. His kindness and dedication were remarkable. My condolences to his family.
My sincere condolences to the Wehner family. Al was a remarkable man, to know him was to love him & his big heart for taking such pride in caring for our fur babies. He will always hold a special place in my heart. God Bless.
Praying for the family of my dear cousin Al. I always had such fun with you and Bill at Grand Wehner’s house for holidays when we were young.
There will never ever be another Doc Wehner. I have lost count long time ago of how many of our dogs that he cared for. He was such a caring and kind person. Hector and I always felt our animals were in the best hands and never once doubted his diagnosis or recommendations . We had several dogs that lived to be 15- 18 years old and he was always accessible doing what he could to make them comfortable in their last days before crossing the rainbow bridge 🌈 . Thankfully he will again be watching over them for each of us. Many Prayers for Dr. Wehner’s family 🙏
What a loss to all who knew and loved Al. He was the best Vet to have had. Our lives and the lives of our pets were made better by his compassionate care.
Dr. Al was the best! He took care of all our animals, we had two cats that we named Al and Ford. He thought that was so funny, of course he loved Al the best
So loved by all that knew him. He was doctor, friend and therapist to all his furry patients and their owners. He will always have a special place in our hearts.
Shari and I are praying for you, Aletha, your mom and entire family. We are so thankful for the impact your dad had on your life and countless others.
I have had 3 dogs in my adult life all living to almost 16 years each. Doc was my vet since the late 70’s, could not have asked for anyone better. My deepest sympathies and prayers for the family. He was the best!
Once when I was 18 years old my dog caught Parvo and l asked Dr. Wehner how much the treatment was going to cost since I was in between jobs. He kept telling me to call back tomorrow and we’ll talk about it then. This went on for almost two weeks til my dog made a miraculous full recovery. I still tear up thinking about it, Dr. Wehner only charged me 100 bucks. I trusted him with my pets til he retired and to this day have not found another soul to care for my babies the way he did.
May god bless him for his kindness and duty done here on earth and he is rewarded with enteral peace and rest.
Thank you for always being there for all the animals.
I know they are so happy to see you again.
Rest in peace Dr Wehner, and thank you for taking care of our animals these many years.
