Alison Scogin Pace

April 16, 1974 - July 22, 2023

Alison Scogin Pace, 49, of Austin, died Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born April 16, 1974, in Fort Lewis, Washington, to Joyce Reed Kallus and William Malon Scogin, Jr.

As many transplanted Texans like to say, Alison wasn’t born here, but she got here as fast as she could. Once she arrived in 1976, she never left. She spent time in College Station and El Paso, but she finally found her home in Austin in 1979. Ali loved Texas and everything about it, especially her Cowboys. Her feisty energetic spirit was never more apparent than during a football game, and she brought that same vitality to all aspects of her life. Whether she was helping at church or with her girls’ many activities, her energy and infectious smile are fondly remembered by all who worked with her. As her girls grew older, Alison returned to the work force as a registered nurse and spread that same joy through her compassionate care for all her patients. Ali maintained that cheeriness throughout her illness. Even as she struggled, she continued to encourage those around her to “Go, fight, win!”

Alison is survived by her children, Ainsley Pace and Sydney Pace, both of Leander; father, William Scogin and his wife, Vicky, of Beaumont; mother, Joyce Kallus and her husband, Anthony, of Georgetown; siblings, Heather Deputy and her husband, Steven, of Winter Garden, Florida; Sarah Scogin Davidson and her husband, Chris, of Port Neches; Michael Scogin and his wife, Lee, of Dallas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William Malon Scogin, Sr., and Doris Mitchell Scogin; and maternal grandparents, Eugene Reed and Lorene Green Reed.

Ms. Pace’s cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, Texas 75380 or to Harbor Hospice House, P.O. Box 23077, Beaumont, Texas 77720.
