Annie Louise Nixon Kornegay

Annie Louise Nixon Kornegay, 85, of Woodville, died Monday, April 12, 2021. She was born on January 11, 1936, to Ila Ray Diehl and Joe Edward Nixon, in Hightower. She enjoyed fishing and camping, garage sales, flowers, and working in garden. Annie will be remembered for her love of her family and grandkids.

Survivors include her sons, Joe Kornegay and his wife, Eva, of Arkansas; Dennis Kornegay and his wife, Mary, of Warren; and David Kornegay and his wife, Tammy, of Ivanhoe; daughters, Jean Boyd and her husband, Raymond and Judy Carriker, all of Ivanhoe; grandchildren, Melissa, Shannon, Trey, Cody, Cassie, Austin, and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Gabi, Kaitlin, Justice, Samara, Nisha, Lucian, Cayden, and Gage.

She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Troy Kornegay; brother, Ray Nixon; sister, Nelda Jean Willis; and her parents.

A gathering of Mrs. Kornegay’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2021, at Broussard’s 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Broussard’s. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, at Wells Cemetery, Highway 105, Cleveland.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6055 South Loop East, Houston, Texas 77087.
