Avis Vonzell Williams

Avis Vonzell Short Williams, 84, of Fred, died Wednesday, February 16, 2022.  She was born on October 22, 1937, in Milam, to Ovie Brown Short and Louie Short.

Avis enjoyed music, reading, and traveling.  She loved being outdoors and her family.  She will be remembered as a loving mother and MaVon.

Survivors include her sons, Michael Spell and Terry Spell, Sr., both of Fred; daughter, Debra McNeel of Evadale; grandchildren, Wade, Justin, Carla, Jason, Tyler, Mike Jr., Terry Jr., and Dustin; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Phelps of Silsbee and Jo Cook of Rockport; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Dwayne Short and John Short.

Mrs. Williams’ graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Fred Community Cemetery, Fred, under the direction of Broussard’s, Silsbee.
