Barbara Gayle Swenson

Barbara Gayle Swenson, 89, of Beaumont, died Friday, January 19, 2024. She was born on September 8, 1934, in Port Arthur, to Jimmie Dill and Warren Eagleson.

Barbara fully enjoyed her time on this earth. She and Jerry spent many years collecting fossils and arrowheads and taking their children on primitive vacations to the beach and Cow Creek each summer. One of their favorite things was to host barbecues for family and friends at their home on the bayou. When the family expanded to grandchildren, she found a love for all things Disney and Mickey Mouse including 11 trips to Disney World. She and Jerry relished their golden years sitting on the porch watching the many birds and squirrels they helped the Lord feed. She leaves behind a legacy of love and fond, happy memories for all who knew her.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Swenson, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of LaBelle; daughter, Debra Hubert and her husband, Steve, of Cheek; grandchildren, Stacey Romero and her husband, David; Jerry Swenson III and his wife, Sue; Beau Piazza and his wife, Jodi; Steven Hubert and his wife, Mikayla; and Sarah Hubert; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Jimmie Eagleson; husband, Jerry Swenson, Sr.; and son, Terry Swenson.

Cremation arrangements for Mrs. Swenson were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
