Barbara Parks

March 22, 1933 - September 13, 2022

Barbara Sage Parks, 89, of Nederland, died Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. She was born March 22, 1933, in Corrigan, to Siddie Smith Sage and Fred Elliot Sage, Sr.

Barbara was well involved in her community. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Nederland where she was active in Sunday School. She was also a member of Port Neches Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, and was a hospital volunteer. Barbara loved needlework and she was known to be a wonderful cook. Above all else, her family was her pride and joy.

Survivors include her children, Joe David Parks and wife, Cathye, of Nederland and Cathy Parks Riley and husband, James, of Orange; grandchildren, Ryan Riley and wife, Julie; Kimberly Sage Polk and husband, Blain; David Parks; and Curtis Parks; great-grandchildren, Cade Prejean; Cole Prejean; Case Prejean; Olivia Polk; Katelyn Sage Riley; Ellyana Riley; Aurelia Riley; Shane Parks; and Ethan Parks; sister, Betty Taylor of Corrigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Parks; brothers, Fred Elliot Sage, Jr. and Billy Sage.

A gathering of Mrs. Parks’ family and friends will begin 9:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Zion Cemetery, 11046 US Hwy 287, Chester, Texas 75936.
