Betty Hope Ary

June 19, 1937 - October 21, 2017

Betty Hope Ary, 80, of Nederland, passed from this life on Saturday, October 21, 2017. She was born on June 19, 1937, in Garfield, Arkansas, to Azna Ruddick Slinkard and Olen Slinkard.

Betty enjoyed her family and friends. She was a longtime member of Memorial church of Christ. Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and MeMe.

Survivors include her sons, Mark Ary and his wife, Paula, of Kingwood and Steve Ary and his wife, Alice, of Nederland; grandchildren, Ray, Jenna, Garrett, Hope, Sara, James, and Jacob; sisters, Mary Diles and her husband, Bob, of Searcy, Arkansas; Dorothy Pierce and her husband, Dwight, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Ruth Fultz and her husband, Charles, of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ary; and parents, Olen and Azna Slinkard.

Memorial Contributions for Mrs. Ary may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 700 North Street, Suite M, Beaumont, Texas 77701.

A gathering of Mrs. Ary’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
