Betty Jean Heald
Betty Jean Heald, 96, of Fannett, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024. She was born on December 15, 1927, to Susan Caroline Melton Odom and Stanford Franklin Odom.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Martin and her husband, Chad, of Fannett; grandchildren, Micah Jones, Miles Jones, Matthew Jones, Christy Jones, Kassie Heald, and Ty Heald; and great-grandchildren, Oliver Jones, Layan Jones, Hayden Dyer, Korbin Dyer, Sam Killian, and Jayce Heald.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis Heald; sons, Scott Heald and Alan Heald; and twelve siblings.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
Cremation arrangements for Mrs. Heald were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
It is a time of sorrow for the family but a time of rejoicing for “Nanny Bettie”. I love the picture – that is the way I always saw her – always a smile and a kind word. Can you imagine her smile when she met Jesus face to face and then seeing her family that has gone on before her. She was truly a treasure on this earth and will be greatly missed.
