Bettye Castilaw

Bettye Castilaw, age 90, of Beaumont, Texas, went to be with her Lord, on February 6, 2018. She was born to Everett and Opal Tucker on December 7, 1927, in Heflin, Louisiana. She later moved to Beaumont, Texas, with her parents where she lived the rest of her life.

Bettye had been a longtime resident of Beaumont where she met and married her husband, Grover. She once said she considered her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her five children and leading them to Christ. She loved spending time with her family and reading her Bible.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Doyle and her husband, Mike, of Conway, Arkansas; Linda Whiddon and her husband, Terry, of Lumberton; and Becky Hamm and her husband, York, of Beaumont; sons, Tim Castilaw and his wife, Shellene of Warrensburg, Missouri and James Castilaw and his wife, Penny, of Greenbriar, Arkansas; sister, Jane Taylor and her husband, Charles; brother, Jack Tucker and his wife, Doris; sister-in-law, Loretta Tucker; grandchildren, Joel Doyle and his wife, Brittany, of Little Rock, Arkansas; Amy Dallas and her husband, Dakota, of Conway, Arkansas; Ginger Pelloat and her husband, Clayton, of League City; William Whiddon and his wife, Macy, of Beaumont; Thomas Castilaw and his wife, Erica, of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Elaine Castilaw of Bonham; Jonathan Castilaw and his wife, Maddison, of Denton, Texas; Cole Castilaw of Warrensburg, Missouri; Kristle Parchman of Concord, North Carolina; and Larson Hamm and his wife, Kim, of Lumberton; great-grandchildren, Porter Doyle, Elijah Dallas, Destiny Whiddon, Mallory and Drew Pelloat, Annie Parchman, Kinley and Tessa Castilaw, Rylan Castilaw, Shon, Ella, and Lila Hamm; and great-great-grandchildren, Kingsley, Abella, Bryce, and Silas.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grover Roy Castilaw; grandson, Stephen Whiddon; and siblings, Elaine Tucker and Bill Tucker.

A gathering of Mrs. Castilaw’s family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Sunday, Feburary 11, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, at Restlawn Memorial Park, 2725 North Main Street, Vidor.
