Billy Frank Kellum, Sr.

April 25, 1942 - May 24, 2021

Billy Frank Kellum, Sr., 79, of Kountze, died Monday, May 24, 2021. He was born on April 25,1942, in Jasper, to Katie Vandver Kellum and Marshall Bolton Kellum.

Billy graduated from Kountze High School in 1961. The caption for Billy in his senior yearbook is a quote by William Shakespeare and reads, “Men of few words are the best men.” This could not be more true of Billy. He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke clearly, and simply put, he was the best. Billy was an employee of MeadWestvaco in Evadale for over 40 years.

Those that knew Billy thought so much of him. He was well liked and respected by so many. Anyone that knew Billy had a friend in him. He would give anything he could to help a friend in need and never refused help to anyone. His family could not be more proud or blessed to call him Dad.

Billy loved his family and showed his love for them in many ways. He showed his love by working hard to make sure his family always had what they needed, by sharing his wisdom in the advice he gave, and by creating countless fond memories that both family and friends will continue to cherish. Some memories are more unique and personal like his warm smiles, BIG hugs, and strong but gentle hands. Many memories were made doing the things he loved. He loved the lake, the creeks, really any body of water. He loved everything about camping. He loved being in the woods whether he was hunting or just sitting around a campfire. He loved gardening, and to hear him talk, his was the best! He loved anything to do with the outdoors and had a deep respect and appreciation for nature. He had a love of music and dancing, and could cut a rug! Billy loved life, and his life was well lived.

Survivors include his children, Theressa Jones and her husband, Kenneth, of Jasper; Melissa Jones and her husband, Wayne Schram, of Kountze; Latricia Chambers and her husband, Reverend James Chambers, of Jasper; Tami Eddins and her husband, Allen, and Billy Frank Kellum, Jr., all of Silsbee; Misti Woodson and her husband, Woody, of Lumberton; and Clint Kellum and his wife, Jennifer, of Kountze; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Tommy Kellum and his wife, Linda, of Silsbee; Jerry Kellum and his wife, Marian, of Kountze; and Charles Kellum and his wife, Elaine, and Sharon Overstreet, all of Honey Island.
