C.W. “Cooney” Monteau

August 8, 1929 - September 2, 2018

C.W. “Cooney” Monteau, 89, of Winnie, died Sunday, September 2, 2018. He was born on August 8, 1929, in Beaumont, to Wilda Seymour Monteau and Clemeal Monteau.

Mr. Monteau served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War and was a retired pipe-fitter.

Survivors include his son, Gary Monteau and his wife, Terri, of Hallsville; daughter, Virginia Kay Kluck of Winnie; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Monteau; his parents; brothers, Levi and James Jay Monteau; and grandson, Matthew Ryan Monteau.

Cremation arrangements for Mr. Monteau will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A burial of his cremated body will be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.

My thoughts and prayers are with "Cooney's" children and grandchildren. He and my dad were first cousins. His mother and my grandmother were sisters. I remember getting to visit once in a while. He always had a warm, kind smile. May you hold onto all your cherished memories during this time.
