Carlos “T. J.” Antonio Garcia

October 19, 1978 - January 10, 2024

Carlos “T. J.” Antonio Garcia, 45, of Reno, Nevada, formerly of Beaumont, died Wednesday, January 10, 2024. He was born on October 19, 1978, in Warner Robins, Georgia, to Jolanda Margot Vos and Marco Antonio Garcia.

T. J. graduated in 1998 from Central High School, and previously worked at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas.  T. J. was an avid gamer and loved to ride his scooter through town. He enjoyed snacking on Oreos and frozen Reese’s while he watched Back to the Future, Game of Thrones, Avatar, or Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Survivors include his father, Marco Garcia and his wife, Fransisca; mother, Jolanda Thompson and her husband, Kevin; brother, Ruben Gonzalez and his wife, Bianca; sisters, Priscilla Garcia, Janee Thompson, and Brianna Thompson; nephew, Jacob Gonzalez; niece, Sofia Garcia; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A gathering of T. J.’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with his Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 767 Avenue A, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
