Cecile Moss

February 29, 1944 - December 30, 2017

Cecile “Granny” Moss, 73, of Orange, died Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on February 29, 1944, in Orange, to Cecile Elam and Lillian Elam, and had been a longtime resident of the area.

Cecile made many sacrifices and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a great friend to many and was loved by all she encountered.  

Cecile is survived by her former husband of many years and father to her children, Larry Moss of Orange; daughters, Paula Johnson of New Orleans; Angie Dial and husband, Sammy of Baytown; Monica Pink and husband, Veryl of Beaumont; LaDena Headley and husband, David of Lufkin; granddaughters. Britney LaPointe of Round Rock, Meagan Johnson of Orange; and Melissa Johnson of Lufkin, grandsons, Brad Pink and fiancée, Erica Lowe of Nederland; Cody Pink and wife, Katelyn of Lumberton; and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Joe Elam and wife, Sue of Bridge City; and three special nieces, Connie Anderson, Kellie Fontenot, and Karen Baker.

Cecile was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Elam and beloved daughter, Theresa LaPointe. She was also preceded in death by her special best friend and first cousin, Deanie Mackan.

A special thank you to Dana Trahan of China, Belinda Cormier and Lori Chesson, both of Orange, for the help and care extended to Cecile and her family over the last four years.

A Memorial Mass for Ms. Moss will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Ave, Beaumont, Texas. A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

Cecile was my cousin and I loved her dearly and she will be greatly missed.
