Charles “Charlie” Pierce
Charles “Charlie” Pierce, 86, of Beaumont, died Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Collier Park, Beaumont. He was born August 22, 1935, in Beaumont, to Zella Mae Phillips Pierce and Fred Pierce.
He was a 60 year member of IBEW local 2286 in Beaumont. He worked as a Journeyman electrician for 37 years.
As his children grew older he was involved in Little League as an umpire and with a local Boy Scout troop. He always enjoyed listening to his old country music records (especially the music of Roy Acuff and the Dobro playing of Oswald Kirby) and working in his shop. Charlie was very involved with the First United Methodist Church in Beaumont. He was active in the Beaumont Police Department’s Citizen’s Academy. He also helped with many Habitat for Humanity builds over the years.
The biggest joy of his later life was watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. He supported them by attending hundreds of their sporting events in the last 40 years.
He loved dogs, and had many over his lifetime. As he got up in years, he could no longer care for a dog on his own, but his son’s dog Stella was a ready substitute. His “Little Girl” loved him and was always ready to go see her Paw Paw. He doted on his many other doggy friends at Collier Park and kept treats in his walker for them.
Charles is survived by his sons, Charles A. Pierce, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Beaumont; Mark Allen Pierce and his wife, Beverly, of Hillsboro, Oregon; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Spears and her husband, George, of Lumberton; Janet Hebert and her husband, Scott, of Richmond; grandsons, Chris Spears, Charlie Hebert, Matt Spears, Mathew Pierce, Bob Sonnier; granddaughters, Jennifer Spears, Amber Cessac, Katie Rike, Kristi Mott; and twenty great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Pierce.
A gathering of Mr. Pierce’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Broussard’s. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

Oh Sweet Charlie I know the heavens welcomed you and your sweet Ann was waiting right at the gates for you. What a great guy and always so faithful to our church and helpful. You will be missed. God Bless you all during this sad time.
Kathy and Chuck – I am being very careful about crowds, between the current COVID flare-up and asthma problems, but I wanted you to know that I am thinking of you and mourning your loss with you. I enjoyed Charlie. He was always cheerful and had stories to tell. He was a great conversationalist. I know how devoted to Ann he was. We will miss him.
Chuck, Mark, Cheryl and Janet. I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. He was just one of the Fathers all of us Homer Drive brats grew up with. We all spent so much time together I believe all of the Dads on that street had permission to discipline all of us..… and they did, many times! One thing I will always remember about your Dad is his love of country music and his listening to the Grand Ole Opry each day on his transistor radio. I can remember him, on a daily basis, running all of us out of your house because he could not hear the broadcast because of us making too much noise. A lot of fond memories.
We really enjoyed getting to know Charlie and Ann while at First Methodist. A cheerful, friendly, good natured couple who loved the people around them. We thank God for putting them in our lives.
We love both Charlie and Ann Pierce, and their family, and have many fond memories of both. I cherish the moments and hours spent with Charlie, including installing and taking down the lights in the portacache at First United Methodist Beaumont, Oyster Supper.
I have missed our time together, but know that he has rejoined his beloved Ann, and will forever remain amongst us in precious memories.

Sorry for the loss of your Dad. He was quite the character who always put a smile on my face, he will be missed. I have nothing but fond memories of you Mom and Dad and my prayers are with you and your family.
Mark, love and blessings to you and your families as you cope with your Dad’s passing. I always had the greatest respect for your dad and mom and have many great memories of our times at Rainbow Roller Rink and visiting at their house all those years ago.
Pierce Family: I am so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. I have fond memories of him from the days of Jr Cardinal football and hanging out on Homer Dr. You are all in my prayers.
Knew Charles 72 years. We’ll miss him.
Condolences to the family, Charlie was a wonderful man, he showed much love to my family at FUMC and to multiple people around Beaumont. We cherish our memories of him.
