Charles Long, Sr.
Charles William Long, Sr., 82, of Lumberton, died Friday, February 7, 2020, at Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont. He was born on August 26, 1937, to Carolyn Thomas Long and Edgar Allen Long, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Charles was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his son, Charles W. Long, Jr., of Austin; daughter, Nadine Simmons and her husband, Tony, of Lumberton; son, Christopher Long; daughters, Lori Cox and her husband, Dave, of Kingwood and Rhonda Bland, of Spring; son, Doug Bland, of Orange; sister, Carole Savarino, of Greenville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Joseph Slaydon and his wife, Kelli, of Silsbee, Krystle Vinson and her husband, Chase, of Kilgore, and Anthony Simmons, of Louisiana, Presley Bland, and Gracelyn Bland; great-grandchildren, Anna Gore, Kolby Sellers, Trulie Eason, Bryce Gore, Jayke Young, Honestie Eason, and Keanan Slaydon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of Mr. Long’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 10, 2020, at Broussard’s. His committal will be held under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Charlie was such a kind man. So sorry to hear of his passing. Praying for the family.

I knew Charlie many years while working at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was the only one I would call when I needed help with my heating and cooling systems. He was so kind and helpful. He will be sorely missed.
