Darlene Knight

July 23, 1929 - May 14, 2021

Darlene Knight, 91, of Port Arthur, died Friday, Mary 14, 2021. She was born on July 23, 1929, in Morgan City, Louisiana, to Bridget Matherne and Walter Richard. 

Darlene loved music and dancing and she was an excellent cook. She was very social and enjoyed people and playing bridge. Darlene will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and DeeDee. 

Survivors include her son, Lewis Knight and his wife, Linda, of Kingwood; daughter, Susan Byrom and her husband, Tim, of Beaumont; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty-six years, Billy Knight; daughter, Laura Frederick; four sisters; and four brothers.  

A graveside service for Mrs. Knight will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 4560 State Hwy 87, Orange, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

Aunt Darlene was always smiling and kind to us. She had a loving heart and shared her love with so many. She loved her family so much and spoke of them with great pride. I love and will miss her , but I will never forget her!
