Delmer Leonard Roth

March 12, 1926 - April 29, 2017

Delmer “Del” Leonard Roth went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the age of 91, in Beaumont, Texas. Del was born on March 12, 1926 in Plymouth, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Bereuter, parents, Hilda (Grein) and Noah Roth, sisters, Marlene Sinner and Ardella Roth, and twin brother Delbert.

Del graduated from high school in Plymouth, Nebraska. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Jack C. Robinson in the Pacific Theater during World War II, 1944-1946.  Following military service, Del entered the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where he met his future bride. On January 9, 1948, Delmer married his wife of sixty-four years, Margaret “Marge” from Utica, Nebraska. Del was a sales representative for several large manufacturing concerns over his working years. Del could fix anything and loved cars, woodworking, and mechanical projects.

Delmer is survived by brothers, Lyle and Arlan; Del and Marge’s children: son, Alan Roth and his wife, Tana, of Omaha, Nebraska; son, Bruce Roth and his wife, Jeanne, of Burnsville, Minnesota; daughter, Kristi York and her husband, Russell, of Manhattan, Kansas; and daughter, Vicki Carroll and her husband, Jack, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Christine Roth and her husband, Rob; Tamra Milone and her husband, Phil; and Tom Roth, all of Omaha, Nebraska; Michele Durkin and her husband Rory, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Amy Roth of Burnsville, Minnesota; Jessica Ledford and her husband Brad, of Olathe, Kansas; Jonathan York and his wife Emma of Wichita, Kansas; Tyler Carroll of San Francisco, California; and Leah Carroll of Houston, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Alexandrea Ehle, Lucas Ehle, Elizabeth Ehle, Gabrielle Milone, Dominic Milone, Victoria Milone, Ree Ford, Zachary Durkin, and Reese Ledford.

A graveside service for Mr. Roth will be on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at Utica Cemetery, Highway 34, Utica, Nebraska, under the direction of Volzke Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Steward, Nebraska.

A committal for Mr. Roth was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, Beaumont, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4330 Crow Road, Beaumont, Texas 77706.
